Dawnguard DLC Discussion - Thread #36

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 2:08 pm

I hope that we'll get some legendary crossbow. As far as I know, crossbow are the only type of weapons that never got any "true" named artifact in TES game. Don't you think it'd be nice if we had some unique, nicely enchanted crossbow with some lore around it?
So far we have only seen the steel crossbow so I'm not holding out on multiple types.

In 1.6 patch there's a file about a "dwarven crossbow" so I'm guessing there is a crossbow for each material. Also Todd said something about dragonbone crossbow you can craft (including the bolts).

Is Vampire Lord mode third-person only?
Yes.
can someone post a topic with all the stuff that was in the machinima/gamespot interviews? i missed them.
I added everything new from GameSpot. And if someone did the mods would merge it here.
Has it been confirmed yet whether the armor we see Dawnguard members wearing is heavy, light, or both?
Looks like both.

Unknown. At the very least we get 2 new castles if nothing else besides the Soul Cairn.

I wonder where the dragon crashes through the ice. Perhaps it expands one of the edges of skyrim.

I was wondering that too.

Also looked like the vampire castle was on a island? I wonder where that island was? It didn't look like the north coast lacking ice and snow.

Yeah not sure. I'm also not sure whether in an interview it said that the Dawnguard castle was in the fall forest.

I didn't realise it was being extended to crossbows as well.

Well I thought I heard Todd saw that, but either way I'm assuming it will.

I'm wondering in what way the Dwarven Crossbow will be unique compared to the others. Firing many bolts without needing to reload it seems to be. Now the Bolts may either do less damage which is more likely. Or the Dwarven Crossbow will actually be better than the others... which is unlikely but definately the option I would favor. Uber Dwarven Crossbow yay :bunny:

what he said.

If you get in the DLC, your mouth is shut until June 26.
I really wish that NDA would last until PS3 and PC release;)

I don't know how many caught my post from earlier since I don't see the information posted in the OP, but I found information in an IGN article confirming that you will be able to reclaim your werewolf abilities after curing yourself from being a vampire lord. Not much else is known right now as to how it will work exactly, though.

Possibly. Skyrim is supposed to have the largest population of lycanthropes in Tamriel, so it would make sense. If vanilla Skyrim's population of lycanthropes is supposed to be large, and there's literally just about no lycanthropes in the entire region, then what's supposed to be a medium or small population of lycnthropes in a province, two? It also has been a common complaint that there are no wild werewolves and
Spoiler
no way to become a werewolf outside the Companions, so it could be a possibility.

For now, we just know that you can be a werewolf again if you were a werewolf before being a vampire lord.

I hope they add a decent amount, but with keeping low expectations I can only be impressed.
