Dawnguard Gameinformer details #4

They're different because of the witches. And it takes 3 days to become a werewolf after drinking their blood or getting bitten. That took a few seconds.
I forgot about the Witches. And it takes three days for what i'm assuming was Bloodmoon? So yeah they are different i guess.

Sorry, as I'm sure this has probably been asked already but I don't want to look through 800 pages. Has it been stated whether or not there will be a large, new landmass or whether this is just an add-on within the existing map?

Not yet confirmed. We are getting the Soul Cairn and the two faction castles. That's all we know as of now.

Me too, but I was saying what is this [censored] about your post because the Companions didn't take a few seconds, I am pretty sure it is supposed to take a couple minutes to happen if not longer, they just weren't going to show that amount of time in-game.

Unless you're a latent lycanthrope, then it happens immediately.

Yeah, I always Rped that my characters were a latent Lycanthrope, hence the immediete shifting in the underforge.

Thank you, Daggerfall!

Granted capes and cloaks are cool. I see a lot more things taking the spot light in lieu of added clothing.

I have a feeling that the Vampire Lair will be somewhere of the Shore of the Sea of Ghosts. It seems to get a lot of attention by the NPC's, but when explored it has very little to offer. A simple island with a castle could be added without many people noticing. The Sea of Ghosts is the first thing I thought of watching the trailer. Perhaps the Vampires have something to do with what happened to Winterhold?

With the Snow Prince being involved somehow, I expect the Volkihar to be something completely different. We have speculated what reason the Falmer serve in this DLC, as they shown one in the preview. And the Snow Prince is tied to the Falmer.

What if the Volkihar, the real Volkihar, created myths so that the common mortal would be confused? For example, the Falmer are ugly, pale and blood-thirsty. They never venture out into the open. They have frost magic abilities and by all means they look vampirish. The Volkihar could of used them as a scapegoat. While Harkon and the real Volkihar vanished, the Falmer could of been the false public face of these vampires. No one looking at the Falmer back in the Third Era was going to point fingers saying it was just a Snow Elf mutated by shrooms and enslaved by the Dwemer. Farmers and peasents would go around screaming "vampire!"

Edit: Harkon is known to have "returned". So during his absence to wherever the hell he was, these Falmer could of been the "Volkihar" we all read about in "Immortal Blood". A good deception. By the time a scholar would figure out the truth, the real vampires would of been long forgotten.

Pretty sure the GameInformer article announced that. Whether that means its denizens are Volkihar, or whether the castle was home of the original Volkihar, remains to be seen.

I'm hoping for the latter.

Also, I can finally spell "Volkihar" without having to Google it. Yay for me!

The only problem I see with that theory is the Falmer are already scapegoats and boogymen for just about everything in Skyrim, and whenever the guards see them and tell you about them, they don't say "I think I saw a Volkihar." Not that they go "Yep, that's a Falmer," but still.

I really hope that they do something with the falmer/snow elves. I really want the to return to their former glory somehow.
