Dawnguard Trailer Discussion v.2

Wait, so you can cure yourself of Lycanthropy and then with that same character become a vampire??
Yeah. Just throw a Glenmoril Witch Head into the same place you did it for Kodlak and kill your spirit wolf.

They are more or less like the Vigilantes of Stendarr and the Silver Hand. Bad people claiming to be good just because they hunt vampires. But they are extremely prejudice, torture people(just check out the dead werewolf bodies in both human and beast form, and torture tools in their lairs and even a http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Physicalities_of_Werewolves on dissecting people!). Not to mention, hypocrites. I.E, "we serve the god of mercy but we have none to spare. Walk in the light or we will forcibly drag you to it".

In the end, it is all a point of view.
What exactly draws you to this conclusion about the Dawnguard when we really nothing about the faction. I know the Vigilants of Stendarr are extremist as they will kill anything or anybody as ling as it pertains to Daedra in any way but they have been touched upon in the base game.

Anyways I am curious to wee how the winged vampires will be explained in this game because to my knowledge they have never been mentioned in the lore at all. Hopefully they are the Volkihar vampires, if not what are they and how do they fit into the world, and I am curious on the more intricate details surrounding the Dawnguard and the vampires and what history they have with eachother. I am also curious will we get an entire actual island to explore, also I hope we get the old spells we have lost at least back to Morrowind and I want spell creation as well.

Now for some smaller things, how many new weapons, armor, and clothing items will we get, what about general junk for us in game hoarders that want to decorate our houses. Is there an options to change your hair, beard, face paint, and your dirt level.

Also I wonder is this a proper expansion pack and not a quest line DLC similar to Knights of the Nine.

But then I could still become a vampire, thats pretty cool, I think I might, but I'm gonna wait for the DLC because I don't wanna jump the gun

I've noticed a couple more things from the Game Jam have made it into Dawnguard, in addition to the obvious like the Vampire Lord; I'm pretty sure the new water shaders are present, and the undead flaming horse, too -- though it's been colour-swapped to a deep violet colour rather than red.

I commented on the possibility of the new water shaders in the trailer earlier, but I didn't see anyone else respond. I'm glad someone else thinks they could be there too! Personally, I really hope that is the case - I think that they are a wonderful improvement.

Something else:
The line "But we will find them" suggests either the Dawnguard are in hiding, or the vamps don't know the location of their fortress.

Everybody who is immediately assuming/speculating capes as a new feature in Dawnguard:

Keep in mind, it could just be part of the armor sets, or a variant of the main set. (One with cape, one without) Look at Nightingale Armor, for example, it has a cape.

Another thing, I find it hilarious that they're always assuming everybody takes the melee character approach in this game. I did not see even one spell cast during the entire trailer, unless you count that drain thing the Vampire Lord was doing.

Aaaaaaaand anudddaa ting Jackie....Okay I'll stop that. Did anybody notice that Imp/Falmer/Scamp looking thing that the player character shoved it's axe into? I hope that's a scamp and that we'll be getting more summons. I'm crossing my fingers for more spells.

Overall, I'm pretty hyped for this trailer. I hate vanilla Vampires, they have nothing going for them and I find them extremely boring, just like Oblivion's. This adds alot of spice to being a Vampire.

Also, I don't think it's that cliche as everybody is making it out to be. It's not like this is vampires vs werewolves, that would have been cliche. Vampires are generally considered a threat to mankind, I don't see what else you'd expect than for people to want to hunt them down. Everybody is saying Vampires vs Vampire Hunters is cliche, but what exactly did you want them to do? Vampires and Mankind can hug each other and be happy together and transform into a bunch of carebears and fly over rainbows together?

Alot of people are saying they could have done better than Vampires for DLC, but just because you don't like vampires doesn't mean they aren't a part of TES lore. Volkihar was a huge thing in Skyrim and the fact that it wasn't in vanilla was bad, so they had to do something with vampires in a DLC, because honestly the vampires we have now in vanilla are sad. Besides, there will be more DLC to come.

I am not sure what that is, but I thought it was a falmer. I hope we get scamps and way more daedra to summon.

About the lack of magic, I did not notice before but now I can see. I think this DLC is just going to skip magic, I mean the vampires had armour on and so did the Dawnguard. No one had a robe, or a summon.

I think the cape is also part of the uniform, also I am not too fussed about the cape when there are far more important things to ask and guess about. Such as a spell alter, more spells in general and more summons. More daedra running around, magic mounted combat. I know it is a vampire DLC, something I really hoped it was not, but beth can still make this a good DLC by giving us a few of these things. I hope.

It's just one trailer. It's marketing- the expansion is called Dawnguard, of course the first press release will feature...the Dawnguard. For all of those concerned about the lack of other details, keep that in mind. Vampires were featured because that's what the Dawnguard are meant to fight. Other details will follow.

VAMPIRES ALL THE WAY YEWWWW

This is about how I felt, except I did a lot more swearing because I do that when I'm excited.

Looks like they're doing good things with vamps, and I definitely like the crossbow action I was seeing there.

F'ng sweet.

While I'm warming up to the whole Vampire Lord thing, I hope the Imp Minions are on the cutting room floor. That was the major problem I had with them in the first place.
