Dead Money coming to PS3, PC

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 7:50 pm

Are they going to release all of the DLC on a disc like they did for Fallout 3? I own Fallout 3 and NV on the PC, but I want to be able to purchase a physical copy(preferably with a manual, but I would be fine with just the disc/DVD). What they did with the Knights of The Nine release for Oblivion and GOTY for Fallout 3 would be fine, although a seperate release for just the DLC would be preferable(cheaper for me to purchase!).

Just because DLC's are being released simutaniously doesn't mean they are pushing the release dates further out, jesus Carolina.

So what your telling me is that PS3 and PC will get their DLC this month and turn around and get the 2nd one a couple weeks later.
Right? Right?!

I'll believe it when I see it.

Ah lovely. Xbox fans finally came up with a negative argument.

I'm pretty sure we won't wait til April for the next one. They're developing DLC's simultaneously as far as I know. And do shut up, PC and PS3 waited for something longer than you did. Not like we'll get the second one before you do.

Nice way to not read.
I'll try that sometime.

Expect all the DLC's out before fall. They started at January with FO3 and ended in August. GOTY is their deadline you see.

I can't help it. My mind automatically rejects platform war arguments.

You guys took way too long on this.

Hopefully this doesn't happen with any other Bethesda published/developed games.

If the game is released for multiple platforms then the content for that game should be released for all of those platforms on or around the same day.

Great news!
How much will it cost on steam? The DLC for FO3 was priced ok so I really hope they don't up the price :shakehead:

I laugh at the folks already writing the obituary for DLC's 5, 6, 7, and 8.

Best possible outcome, this is what I was hoping for but didn't actually think would happen. Hell yes!

Also, if we reflect on Fallout 3, it wasn't like this. PS3 had to wait a long time, and we had only 2 months of waiting, with each subsequent DLC being simultaneous. It was a speedy timed-exclusive compared to Fallout 3.

Microsoft exclusives usually aren't exclusives for two months.

I suspect Bethesda actually listened to their customers and may have returned the money Microsoft paid them.

Should be a good year then if exclusivity is officially off :foodndrink: makes more financial sense to keep your entire fanbase in it for the 2 year haul

If that is true then I have even more respect for Bethesda.

I personally don't think that would happen. I'll bet that Bethesda and Microsoft had a contract done up so I doubt Microsoft would let anyone back out of it, especially if the reason is that the fans are angry about it.

While it does sound nice, Bethesda probably wouldn't want to burn their bridges with Microsoft either. ;)

Hey Bethesda, thanks for making the DLC not exclusive. It means a lot that you intend to treat the fan base equally for further Fallout DLC.

Works. Although I find it extremely hilarious people fight over additional content you have to pay for.

Please! Take my money! All of it!

I’m glad Microsoft realized limited exclusive money is a waste(Atleast in this case, after Dead Money) By now the 360 could of had several AAA titles developed for it. Instead we’re facing a shortage of exclusives.

Second, barring their own PC platform from dlc and titles is a bad idea aswell. There’s only a niche group that would buy a whole console just for one or two pieces of content. Content they have to additionally purchase in the first place along with the aforementioned brand spankin new console.

Plus, since Sony keeps on making several exclusives and full on for keeps Exclusive DLCs that usually come for free with the title to buyers.

I hope Microsoft pursues that path for the 360 and PC.

If Sony doesn’t knock it off I’m very inclined for Microsoft to start taking games and content for itself. Mostly because I'm not enough of a giver to let Sony hog all the content, aside from my PSP, Sony Vaio laptops, cameras, camcorder, HD TV.

Love Sony products, just chose a 360 is all. And since none of those products but the PS3 get any content Sony's after I hope Microsoft stays aggressive for the 360 and PC.

I especially like and loathe that Sony just about gets full exclusive on some multiplatform titles that buyers get FREE. Talk about sweet.

Ideally multiplatform will have no sort of exclusives.

We'll always take free dlc though.

Even better, more expansions. Less crapware.

The truth is in the eye of the beholder. Omitting facts doesn't necessarily amount to a lie, although it's not exactly considered forthcoming.

If i pointed a gun at you and told you that you were going to die, you'd probably wet yourself...unless I added something like: "Though not today, but eventually, as everyone must". The omission of the last part completely changes the truth of the first part.

You really should find a different way of expressing your point, the one you gave is offensive.

Nevertheless, thank you, you've just made my point for me. Even though the last part was omitted, it was NOT a lie. You see, the key being "IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER." I'm not saying I like it or even agree with it, No matter which way you look at it, OMITTING FACTS IS NOT THE SAME AS FALSIFYING THEM. You can try to argue that one till you are blue in the face, but it won't change the fact that it is not lying.

As already mentioned earlier, in case you didn't actually read my post, It isn't exactly forthcoming. In other words, While Bethesda/Obsidian may have left out the timed aspect of the exclusivity, they weren't exactly open concerning all the facts on the matter.

Honestly, I'm happy with 4 DLCs. 8 is pretty much just saying "HA! You bought only a fraction of the game, you have to pay for the rest!"

Albeit, Oblivion had 9 DLC's and only two actually went beyond one area of the game, and the others either added something really unnecessary, Horse Armor, were integrated into vanilla, Spell Tomes, or simply were a one-shot thing, including Safehouse DLC's.

With 4, I'm hoping for Lengthy, Enjoyable Adventures. I guess the saying "Less is More" may apply here if given the correct treatment.

Nice to hear about a release date, and future release dates. At least now I won't feel so out of the loop and I'm interested in seeing what modders can do with the DLC resources.

Edit:
To be fair, it may just be that they have not have annouced them yet.

In my opinion, I think 4 is a # I'm pleased with so long as it has lots of content behind it.

Probably wont be getting Dead money since that I sold my PS3 version of the game & that there isn't much point to it other then the trophies... ALSO EVERYONE BE WARNED! THE DLCS WILL BE EXTREMELY BUGGY ON THE PS3 VERSION.. ONLY BECAUSE THE PS3 VERSION OF THE FO3 DLCS WERE VERY BUGGY..

I doubt they have to develop DLCs separately for each console. They probably use a tool similar to GECK.

I don't really understand what DLC exclusivity is supposed to accomplish. I already invested in a powerful gaming PC and I won't buy a 360/PS3 even for an exclusive game.
I doubt a console owner would buy another console for this. If bethesda decides to make a DLC exclusive they just lose money.

Um, yeah... because a contract doesn't mean anything to anyone in business, and people just don't care if you break them. They tend to be fine with it. Really!

So have i, but i did buy a PS3 for it's exclusives. I regret nothing! :D

As for the DLC, not sure if want. I'll have to see when it's released. DA2 release is pretty close then though, so i might just save my money for it.
