You're right, they're definitely going to need a bigger boat. Please let someone get that..............

Jaws

Now on topic, 35?????? WHY????? Looks like Bethesda forced Obsidian to let people make God like characters again. I guess people these days don't understand what specialization means.

There was that one library that kept restocking Outdoorsman books, Dean's Electronics, and First Aid books. I miss that library.

borderlands is a big joke, so the 'odd/perverted' lvl cap suites that game, since it doesnt take itself seriously

Exactly which is why most of the people who play the game (like myself) love it so much :D

Why all the anti level cap posts

This is the selling point for me.

Without a level cap raise this is story and 1 weapon

Getting 2 more perks and 60+ skill points is best

"Level cap raised from 30 to 35."

For [CENSORED IN ALL CAPS]'S SAKE.

Time to spread out all the new skill points so they make little difference. As for the perks... Explorer and Lead Belly, here I come.

There is NO need to raise the level cap. They need to SLOW THE RATE AT WHICH YOU GAIN XP AND LEVEL UP. I feel like I'm beating my head against a brick wall!

What, is it technically unfeesible, is that it? Is it hardwired into the code or something?

It might not be a 'Play after the original ending' but it looks like Obsidian still managed to goof on going from pretty decently balanced to 'dun goof'd the game'. :(

I know that I could just spend the points in low skills that I don't use so that I don't really improve a lot but the +hp and two more perks is still bugging me.
It's easy enough as it is at level 30, if we get more high-powered perks then what is suppose to pose a challenge to us anymore?
People didn't like bullet sponges and they didn't like Hillfolks +35 damage through armor either.
So uhm, yeah...
How is this suppose to be "balanced"?
If anything we should get nerfed somehow instead of getting more levels.
Maybe +hp every other level or something.

I mean, they're going to balance out gobi and AMR, EW and Explosives, but what about overall player over-powerdness?
This is why I think we should be allowed to pick "Disadvantages" by every 10 levels which are optional.
Disadvantages function just like perks just the other way around, they nerf us permanently.
So every 10 levels, (10, 20 and 30 and the new 35) we get to choose whether we like being as powerful as we are or if we want to balance our characters our by permanently nerfing them. (Can pick as many Disadvantages as possible since it doesn't improve characters)
That should allow for some balance.

That I might actually fear if I ever see.
Regular albinos were scary enough with their A?FNSKflm damage and theire PKOAFU=(Q#4uy health so a MK II might just make me have a heartattack.

I had an idea when I was a kid about shaping C4 into critters and giving them as gifts as a way to level an entire city...

I was a troubled child.

Well, his hands have mouths, and he puts clay into these mouths and then chew it, then the plot element "Chakra" allows him to transform the clay into bombs which he can control with his will depending on what he shapes them into.

He creates clay spiders, birds, ants and stuff which then explodes at his command.

Interesting... That sounds like something out of one of my childhood nightmares though. Me thinking about methods of destroying a city was more of a sadistic thought exercise than anything though.

The skills in the game are just a means to an end. Having more options won't ruin your Abe Vigoda character or your Charles Manson character or whatever you want to play as because you'll only be able to select one skill check response for every situation you'll encounter anyway. The skills are arbitrarily designed ways to make people feel like their character is unique.

Wow, your character is really special because he has 75 skill points invested in science. Just saying something like that immediately breaks any immersion becuase it's just another stat. Some people don't want to have to start the game all over again with a different character just to see what lockpicking is like and that's okay because a skill like that doesn't merit it.

So they're going to raise the level cap and your going to have to put points into skills you wouldn't normally put points into. So What? Do you define your character by skill points and stats or by which of the many options you'll choose to take. Having more skills maxed actually enhances role-playing because now you have to make the choice of whether you want to use science or lockpick in a given situation instead of choosing the only option that's available to you because you invested points in that skill.

Hot diggity this post should be framed for greatness.

Meh, I'm kind of disappointed.
I'd much rather have DLC that takes the Courier to the west, or to the east to elborate on either the NCR (and visit some old FO(2) locations) or the Legion, of which I would really like more.
Some random Casino doesn't really sound very interesting to me.
Ad for the level cap; I'm more interested in the new perks.

Probably. And we have no one to blame but our very own "gaming culture" which has degenerated sharply over the past 10 years.

New Vegas started out as something that would defy the crappy trends of the modern industry. Now it seems like it's set to follow the crappy trends.

Well said. +1

Only 70~95 skill points? That means our character can top another skill from the floor.

Only 95 skill points, only 5 levels, only 2 more perks.

A single gain of sand is enough to flip over a balanced lever.

Actually its 85 I added an extra 10 points by mistake. The 85 is assuming you have 10 intelligence and the Perk Educated
