It's the damned Black Phantom Mindflayer in 3-2. The one on the stairs. Normally, I just shoot spells at him, and block his spells with my shield. But he's just been so much harder this play-through. I got through once, then accidentally fell off something and died because I forgot the worm dudes are at the top of the stairs.
Normally, my strategy for him is to equip a Thief's Ring or cast Cloak just so I can watch him from a distance. Wait for him to turn around and ascend the stairs again, in which case, I grab my best weapon and CHAAAAARRRRRGE! Usually, I backstab him, which either kills him instantly, or knocks him down the stairs. If I don't, I attack wildly 'til he's dead. Use anything fire-related, it hurts and makes them flinch.
Another thing I noticed: "The weapon upgrade system will be easier to understand." This could be good or this could be bad. Personally, I like Demon's Souls' upgrade system. It's not really that hard to grasp, yet it's deep enough to actually encourage building characters wisely and present some variety. Now, it seems like FROM could either keep what was good about the system and simply make it less complicated (but not less complex), or just -- as much as I don't particularly like the phrase -- dumb it down. Hopefully it'll be the former.
I'd say the biggest problem with the upgrade system in
Demon's is that it's not exactly obvious how it's done. You practically need a guide to figure out what you need to forge the unique weapons, as well as to figure out how to get some of the ores (especially the [censored] Pure Bladestone :flame:). We'll see how it goes.
World 2 is also up on the list, but it's too easy. Too bad we'll never get the chance to play World 6.
Damn straight. "Giants of the Northern Lands." Yeesh, why did the coolest sounding world get cut?
