I bought a 360 because all my friends were getting one and I wanted to play with them, if they got ps3's instead I would've bought the 360 for Oblivion and Halo anyway.

And now I get to use it for Skyrim so... go me!

I happened to have bought the new model a couple weeks before it came out but it wasn't for Skyrim. This thread is just going to boil over with pigheaded platform wars...

Ha Ha Ha .... PC gaming is dying a slow lingering death and the PS3 while a great machine offers very little in the way of an orginal games catalogue when compared to the 360... I will conceed that the Uncharted series is good.

I bought my first Xbox 360 for Halo, and my Xbox 360 250gb Slim for... ehm, I don't recall :P for the looks I think.
I also got myself a PS3 for Killzone 3 and Uncharted.

PC gaming is in no way dying. I don't want to get into an argument over consoles but you only have to look at the capabilities of each platform to see that the 360 is the weakest of the three.

No surprise that the first two replies were questioning the OP's decision to play Skyrim on 360, like the majority of Skyrim owners do.

If I had the money to get a powerful enough PC, I would most certainly use that - but my loooong experience with game stability, spending hours on stupid errors and never being certain if the game can actually run on the machine, I much rather settle with my Xbox and PS3: put in the game and play, no questions asked. I'm now considering also getting Skyrim for the PS3.. lol

Really? People have been saying that for the past 20 years and yet still PC gaming is very very strong.

Maybe in terms of tech yes, but tech does not equal sales. For any multi platform game the 360 shifts the most units and the PC the least (well normally) unless it is released on the wii

I'm sorry but you only have to look at the quality and ammount of PC games released over time, 10 years ago there where hundreds of quality games on PC now there are no more than a handfull each year. I have all three platforms with a PC that can run Skyrim on Ultra, I have copy on both Xbox and PC, the PC copy has had maybe an hour the the 360 upwards of 30 hours.

Don't get me wrong it will be a sad day when PC gaming falls by the wayside but make no mistake that day is coming. Look at the Skyrim UI its a mess probably because it was not cost effective to spend time on it knowing how few units they would shift for the PC its only a short hop to lets not bother with a PC version its not worth the cost to develop/port.

Unless you have proof its best not to say such things. Especially when the ps3 runs on a rather old pc video card and technically the 360 is more powerful.

I bought a 360 because the Xbox was awesome. And out of my 70+ games Skyrim is not to bad. Hopefully it will get better. And once all the bugs get worked out I will get a copy for the pc to play with.

Really?? Because it is cheaper to buy a 360. Then to buy a PC that can run these newer games. No not everyone can build one themselves for cheap or even knows someone who can. That is usually the PC elitist answer to everything....Just go buy one, sorry not everyone can afford it. Also some some people prefer 360 over PS3.....Too each his or her own I guess.

PC gaming has one major advantage in sales: digital distribution. More and more of PC game sales are digital rather than traditional retail.

Lol :)! And the games are more expensive on 360 and you need all the necessary equipment like another controller, w-lan maybe and other stuff ;)! For that you could have had a nice PC! And on the long run you can upgrade your pc. its cheaper then buying a new console. And you are constantly blocking the TV. Which is [censored] if you have a wife who wants to watch. So you can buy another tv which is again expensive. I dont say consoles are [censored] but the pc will always be superior. And for the games maybe this will end but then we get the games back developed by independet programmers with extreme nice storylines and so on. So i look forward to that. No more fp rail shooters from console to pc. Instead make me a nice text adventure and i am happy hehe

Its kinda common sense PC will always be better then Consoles. The thing is,the price for getting a good one,or learning how to build one. Both put off many people from even bothering, not to mention compatibility issues with drivers, errors, crashes, etc. The good thing is,well, better graphics and mods. Thats pretty much it.

The problem is the PC Elite people going "HURRR DURRR DUHHH PC IS ALWAYS BETTER,THAT PIECE OF CRAP XBOX AND PS3 AINT GOT NOTHING ON MY QUAD CORE DUAL GIGGA HURTZ GT X W BLAH BLAH BLAH" Those are the kind of people that make PC users look like dumb idiots full of themselves with nothing better to do then brag about their tech or say pointless comments.

there is no reason to buy a gaming pc for 1 game once a year that pushes the hardware a little.
since all major titles are console games and then ported to pc. the visuals aint that better on pc

It depends entirely on the game. Having spent a lot of time playing black ops online for example, I'm very very glad I got it for 360 - it ran much better than the ps3 version. ps3 may be ahead of its time, but that seems to work against it a lot atm.

On topic: I bought my 360 for Pro Evo 6.
