Disturbing Habits

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 6:17 pm

I really hate people who spit out fake facts. If you don't know anything about a topic don't talk about it. It's not hard to keep your mouth shut

Another thing is stupid assignments in school, just today a teacher told us how stupid she thought the next few assignments we were doing were. But since she doesn't want us to start anything new until after spring break we are going to be doing those most of the time until spring break. You should just give us a damn free period or something no point in having us Google random facts about nothing. In fact why don't you have us google random things and write what we learned? I could probably learn more from looking up topics on trust worthy sites then that teacher ever could teach me.

People continuing to argue when they know they are wrong. Need I say more?

People who show off about everything, even stupid nerdy things like beating someone in a game. "Oh dude I beat him in CoD he is such garbage!" then I say "OH YEAH? No one cares" Then they say "Whatever you're jealous" No I'm not you can beat someone in cod? Good for you no one cares.

Video Games being used as a scapegoat for crimes

Anti Video Game Activists becoming more and more common. They probably waste more of their time on trying to get games banned then I do playing games.

People forcing their beliefs on others are just becoming way too common around me.

Game companies svcking money out of everyone, take for example DLC, they give you half the game for full price then charge you 40 more bucks through DLC to get the full game. No wonder used games and piracy are so popular. If you are going to rip everyone off then you deserve it.

I'm going to stop here, I'm sure mostly everything else I am thinking of has been already said.

2 liter bottles are more cost efficient. I can get a 2 liter bottle of my favorite brand of root beer from the supermarket for $1.19, but if I bought a 20 ounce bottle from 7-Eleven or a vending machine I would pay $1 or even more.

The sad thing is that it is so true. It is the same here. I'm just more disgusted at the guzzling. You don't need to drink it all... I mean, bring some cups or something! But it's appalling to think that some people do this because it's simply cheaper.

And to hash out one that really irks me. The flagrant disrespect towards and about authority. Teachers demand a certain level of respect. I give it regardless of how smart, dumb, fat, old, or whatever. They have a really crappy job. Not looking at anything but the fact that they have to deal with KIDS all day. Or Teenagers. GASP.

But passionately arguing subjects about which you know nothing is one of mankind's most sacred and beloved traditions!

If I pour myself a cup every time I wanted a sip of my bottle, I would drink it a lot faster to tell you the truth. You can't pour the cup back into the bottle, so I would be obligated to drink the whole cup. I have a mini-fridge right next to my computer desk, so when I'm feeling thirsty I reach over, grab the root beer, take a sip, and put it back. A bottle lasts me for 2-3 days.

I don't find anything 'disturbing'. I view a lot of things with amusemant but as long as they have no direct effect on me, I am certainly not going to get worked up about them as many of you seem to.

It is time for you to foray into the darkest depths of the internet. You will change your mind, I assure you.

Kid plugging his bloody cellphone charger in my classroom the other day.

Needless to say, I blew a fuse.

Whats with all the youth bashing in this thread?

"I see no hope for the future of our people if they are dependent on the frivolous youth of today, for certainly all youth are reckless beyond words. When I was a boy, we were taught to be discrete and respectful of elders, but the present youth are exceedingly wise and impatient of restraint."

As for me, I have a bad habit of bitting my lips, checks, and tongue. Its hurts after while but I can not stop doing it.

yeah the teens blatantly admitting to drugs and six really is outta hand here, youd think the teachers/cops would get paid more for reporting this kind of stuff.

Charles Darwin's rolling over in his grave man..

Big brother much? What's so detrimental about either of those things that warrants reporting it. It's not like anyone gets hurt by em, live and let live.

Oh there's much, much worse out there. I'll put it like this, if you went to the bathroom in high school and didn't log off your computer, you had only yourself to blame. I made sure to do that every time after some pretty disturbing images involving horses ended up as my desktop...

Because police can't make arrests based on suspicion, do you seriously think they're going to bust a kids house because he talked about smoking with his friends? lol

The DEA busts dealers, not high school kids with a dimebag on them, seriously it astounds me that people think just because someone is in posession of any type of drug that the police are going to hunt them down.

Anyways back on topic, I find it really irritating how a lot of teachers talk for the entire class, especially now that I have three hour classes, and then expect us to pay attention. I also hate when pharmacies automatically give you generic drugs when you specifically asked for the name brand.

Yes they can. Its called "Probable Cause". Admitting to doing an illegal act gives law enforcement "Probable Cause" to believe that you are engaging in illegal acts, therefore they can search you, your property and make an arrest if needed.

Oh yes another habit that really bothers me is men not wearing deodorant.

I've been on the Internet a while. I've seen just about everything it has to "offer." Obviously I can't go into specifics, but I've seen viler things than even those posted on that place that must not be named. :P

I suppose if there is one "habit" that annoys me personally, it's when certain friends of mine have sometimes tried to get me to do certain substances that I'd rather not partake in.

Or men wearing too much deodorant. Are you compensating for something?

Oh, and drivers, please let me explain. When the light pulses yellow, this means "move ahead if there are no pedestrians crossing, about to cross or just finished crossing". It does not mean "You have carte blanc to run anybody over". One day I will flip, and explain this to a driver as he chokes on the sole of my boot.

From my experience, there is no such thing as too much deodorant. Well, almost no such thing anyways. Now perfume/cologne on the other hand is a whole different discussion.

Dude trust me they're not going to search high school kids to confinscate their nickel bags lol. Most cops are pretty lax on drug laws also, do you have any idea how much paperwork they have to do just for a tiny amount? If you were dealing thats a different case but probable cause, especially for lower class drugs will not be used unless you're in your vehicle at the time.
edit: Sorry probable cause is a lot different in Canada then in the States

And not wearing deoderant is gross :P

Another think that I've noticed is that psychiatrists and even family doctors really hand out perscriptions to anyone and without understanding them... I mean I was perscribed benzos as soon as I mentioned anxiety and my doctor told me they were not habit forming :(

Well, recently, I've noticed the habit, or rather, trend of lately coming to great popularity in my school: 2 liter soda bottles. And it isn't to share. Its for one person. They'll drink it in one sitting. Or carry it around... It's disgusting, and unhealthy. And ever since Coca-Cola has redesigned its bottle to be a giant version of its smaller serving, it is even easier for them to carry around. Please. It is Disturbing.

I've been doing that for years. When a 20 oz. from the gas station costs $1.49, and a 2-liter costs $1.99, you do the math.

Psychiatrists certainly understand prescriptions. They go to medical school expressly to learn about medications and how they effect the brain (this is actually one of the defining features between a psychiatrist and a psychologist). Now a general practitioner giving out benzodiazepines is a little bit different - obviously stuff like Valium (diazepam) and Xanax (alprazolam) should be given out only after a little bit more digging, possibly by a psychologist instead of a general practitioner, since the addictive properties of both are pretty well known (well, usually). Plus a lot of anxiety issues can be mediated a great deal by something like cognitive behavioral therapy.

This isn't exactly a "new" trend, but it's something that bothers me to my core. People that leave the house in their pajamas. Another one that bothers me is seeing people in shorts and a Tshirt in the dead of winter. I kid you not, I saw a guy walk into a convenience store in shorts a Tshirt and a pair of sandals last month when we had 2'+ of snow on the ground. Where did you just come from? A goddamned idiot convention? I hoped his car got stuck in a snow bank and he had to walk home in that ridiculous attire.

Agreed. The other day, I walked into a classroom, opened a window and sat down in my seat (next to the window). As I sat there enjoying the cool morning March breeze in my longsleeve shirt, a girl walked into the room with short-shorts on, sat down, and began to complain about the cold. If she were wearing pants, nay, even normal shorts, that window would have been closed. Instead, I made damn sure that window remained open.

Anyone else noticed any disturbing trends or habits? Keisha fans playing her music on the bus for example...

In Philadelphia they're talking about taxing soda. According to them, they're concerned about obesity, which is bull. But it won't effect me much. I drink a lot of milk and not soda.

And people walking around in pajamas during the day cracks me up. They do it all the time in South Philly. On a Philly forum some of the local residents were really riled up about it. It makes me laugh.

What does get on my last nerve is people littering all over the place. It's disgusting. Or when we get those flyers and the local free paper and the coupon booklets-instead of taking them into the house and throwing them out...they just throw it onto the sidewalk or in the street. Talk about lazy and inconsiderate. Litter is my issue but I'm getting use to it because in Philly, there's just so much of it around. It's not worth getting upset over.

What about women not wearing deodorant? It can be just as bad, as evidenced from my sister's friend. :yuck:

They are considering the same thing in New York State. I've been drinking 2 liter bottles of soda since I was like 12 years old, and I only weigh about 160 pounds.
