A DLC just for Vamp Fans?

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 11:25 pm

The vampires aren't the heroes, course you can take the anakin skywalker oint of view and say that you need to do it to save your race but in the end, the dlc is named after the guys who want to stop the end of happiness, i see them as the good guys

The Volkair (sp?) breed of vampires is missing from Skyrim. the vamps we have now are from Cyrodill, spread by that one guy in that one cave (didnt want to spoil it). This will add the Volkair, who do not desire prey to be sleeping, but attack while they are awake. Least thats what I get from what i read so far.
But the Vamp Lord is not a Volkihar thing at all. They are Frost based Vamps but these appear to be a whole new kind so i am kind of curious to see how Beth will explain this

Ok you buddy are wrong. This IS what Skyrim needs. Vampires get [censored] on and get a few powers. Now we get a whole story line and a transformation. You werewolves got a transformation and a story line. Where did that fit into Skyrim huh? If this DLC isn't ment for Skyrim, then werewolves aren't ment for Skyrim either. Plus werewolves are even getting perks so stop trying to make Bethesda get rid of our DLC because you don't want vampires to stand a fighting chance now.

Not necessarily. What's the incentive for someone who really just isn't interested in vampires one way or another? I don't want to be one, and I feel exactly the same amount of satisfaction killing one as I feel killing a mud crab. What's my incentive to care?
I'm also not interested at all in vampires, either killing them or being one, but I'll probably buy the DLC just to see more TES. Not every piece of content is going to be my thing, just as I don't play every quest line in the base game or maybe only play it once to see it. If you don't have any incentive at all, don't buy it? What's so hard about that? Wait until the next DLC comes around and maybe it will be more to your liking.

Did everyone who got Blood Moon care about Lycans? Did everyone who got Shivering Isles care about insanity? Did everyone who got Knights of the Nine care about being a goody-goody Knight? Did everybody who got the horse armor...errr never mind that one...the point is that if you dont want the dlc then sit down and be quiet so we Creatures of the Night can finally get our fun

That makes no sense. Episode III was named "Revenge of the Sith" and it was mostly from Darth Vader's point of view.

Ok, first off you said 'we' when referring to vampires and am 100% certain that you are not a vampire. You also used the word 'you' and werewolves. I can assure you that I am not a werewolf and I HATE playing being forced to play one in Skyrim during a certain factions quests.

I'm glad that someone who wants to play as a vampire has more tricks. I just hope that Bethesda didn't spend 80% of the DLC making only you and your dark friends happy and the other 20% for everyone else. There are a few, as has spoken in this thread, that really don't care for being either vamp or were. For us I suppose it's the Dawnguard (though I'm sure I'll make an evil person just to do the other quests with).

It's just when reading all the Skyrim and Nord lore that Vampires doesn't just jump out at you. Maybe Bethesda is trying to change that. Maybe Bethesda is wanting Skyrim to be known as the Land of Vampires. Or maybe the DLC is catering to a smaller group than they thought. Honestly though they could make a DLC about a pile of dragon dung that comes to life and eats Stormcloaks and people would buy it. Heck I'd buy it, just to see what it's about. Not sure there is a large fan base for living dung piles though.

Let us not forget that Beth should only make the DLC that YOU want since nobody else matters in the world...silly us to think that our opinions are relevant

Dawnguard looks interesting, but other than a few added items everyone can use, it looks like this DLC is basically just for vampire fans. There are vampire fans, I get that, but there enough to build the whole first DLC around them?

Well they saw fit to appease all those horse armor fans before. Unless they overlap with the vampire fans, I doubt they'll be catered to as a group any time soon again. /triestokeepastraightface

On the brightside, Dawnguard looks like it's going to much better than previous first round DLC.

I know I can join a faction against vampires, the Dawnguard, but this DLC is basically vamp fair. And yes I know some people love it and there is nothing wrong with that, I was just hoping for something more Skyrim related.

I love the Bloodmoon expansion, but it was a whole lot more than just becoming a werewolf (which I also cured). My favorite part of that whole DLC was building a new colony and having a new home in it.

I had not thought of considering the Dawnguard as a new Good warrior faction (still want to join the Silver Hand though). That is very much needed in this game.

Being that Vampires have been in the game since morrowind. I don't see how this is not Skyrim related.

Why are some of you assuming that there is only a small fan base for vampires. Where do you think all the movies and tv shows come from. I understand that a few of you are unhappy with the DLC. However that does not make your opinion the majority. Just let the Vampire fans have there day and leave it at that.

They are selfish and whiney, like little children who's diapers are too full for their own good. Just because they don't like it, they expect everyone to jump in the anti-vampire wagon and ride away on the high horse. But they just won't admit their precious interests didn't make it into the damn DLC.
