Dwarves!

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 1:21 pm

They are a big part of skyrim, history and such i think they should bring em back. i for one would love to play as a dwarf. not only that when u think fantasy game, they are pretty much up there in the top ten things you think of. I love the big beard axe swinging sarcasim of the dwarf race. and finding out what they did to the snow elves thats bad ass.

Dwarves are elves..

(total mind**** to new player^^^^)

Basically they are not your cliched, little gnome-like drunken axe-wielding fellows, they are in fact an ancient race of brilliant but phsycopathic elves who inventeted rocket ships and torture traps... they are called Dwemer.

Just like high elves= Altmer
Dark elves=Dunmer
Wood elves= Bosmer
Snow elves=Falmer
Orcs=Orismer
So.. Dwarfs= Dwemer

They are extinct and cannot come back.
Possibly a dlc set in the past would be nice, but I wouldnt expect any meaningful dialogue with Dwemer.
They are just too strange.

They would be tall elves with beards perhaps but not your short stumpy dwarves from Lotr and other fantasy. We know what they did to the snow elves from the lore in game and leaving them extinct is much more interesting then bringing em back.

Random: If they ever DID come back in the Elder Scrolls series, what would you imagine they looked and sounded like?

Orcs and elves in TES... They are pretty much what we expect out of such classic fantasy icons. But the Dwarves of TES have this cool copper steampunk thing going on. Not exactly Gimli in nature.

Personally, I think they'd look like stubby copper robots (with their armor and such), but no Scottish accent, and the beards are optional like the other races. Maybe medieval hipsters, since they're shrouded in mystery and had technology 'we probably wouldn't understand.' :{D~

I love Dwarves more than anything, but even I think they do not belong in TES in the traditional LOTR Dwarf style. I don't know how many topics we get about this.

Well there we go, a dwarf with us here RIGHT now! And an awesome one at that, tell me, how does it feel to be extinct? Do you think you will ever be making a comeback?

I prefer them not ever coming back, it's nicer to have them extinct and to remain a mystery, you can get an idea of what they look like through statues, painting and the spectres in Morrowind, you also get to speak to two in TES 3, Morrowind and Tribunal.

I've never been a fan of the cliched Dwarves, I don't know why but every cliche thing TES uses just seems a whole lot better, Dwarves, Dragons, Elves etc...

Yes. We've got tall bearded dues already. Dwemer being short would be the dumbest thing ever.

Not going to happen. Maybe they make a little appearance, but the whole race of the Dwemer will always be lost and won't ever return to Nirn. They're [censored]s too, trying to take over the world and ignoring the Aedra and Daedra. Smart, but ignorant and we allready have one of those people *cough* ALTMER! *cough*

If they have to come back, have MK write all the dialogue to confuse the [censored] out of everyone.

They are just too strange.

They are not extinct, they are gone missing under unclear circumstances. And whatever goes away, eventually come back. Long-gone races have already started making their comeback (see dragons), dwarves seem to be the best bet for the next comeback...
