Dwarves!

Just punched out 2 high elves.. this is a touchy topic. every thing they put in just about confirms they wer short i mean the chairs and tables u see in the ruins

True. Although It's not like Wood Elves weren't short in Oblivion. Not all Elves in TES seem to be tall.

A Dwemer in TES VI would probably look something like this:

A list of ways in which TES Dwarves are like DnD/LoTR Dwarves:

1) They lived underground.

er... that's it.

Pretty much.

A token by which the same thing could be said about The Falmer.

You really can't think of an excuse to bring them back?

"Thirty dwarves were doing research in a realm of Oblivion when the tools were used and the heart was pierced. Those thirty dwarves returned to find their people vanished, and their Falmer slaves running amok. They sealed themselves in one of their deepest cities to protect themselves from the Falmer, and in the thousands of years since have grown to a sizable population. Also, they are shorter now because thousands of years and a bottlenecked population can do that."

Boom. Dwarves.

As far as Yagrum knew he was the only one. He searched for a long time, and not only on Tamriel.
Vivec said he could detect no trace of them in any world.

Of course, something like you say might very well be done, if the people in charge find it interesting enough.
Im just saying that it would be a retcon.
Myself I am of the opinion that the Dwemer are better left gone. Any attempt to bring them back, no matter how well done will inevitably ruin their mystery, their specialness, because it will lock them in one role, instead of the myriad of fancyful imaginings and speculations we may have.

Actually, yes. That's probably the best comparison. They were very definitely styled that way.

Yeah, they sort of look like they came from ancient Mesopotamia somewhere, e.g. these Assyrians from Wikipedia. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/2e/PLATE2AX.jpg

Well one Dwemer did survive you see him in Morrowind. So it is possible that more could of survived. Would be interesting to find the odd one or two still walking around the world. Would make for a awesome quest finding one of the last Dwemers.

Btw this is what they look like:

Bethesda has erased the Gimli-like dwarves from the lore by introducing them, against all known legends of mankind, as high-technological giants, the cultural peak of Tamriel's civilization before the fall into the Dark Eras (with the fourth we're are busy with right now).

They are extinct and cannot come back.

Are we sure about this? I read that one second they were on this planet, next second they were all gone.

I think it's kind of strange that an entire race/faction dies all over the planet at the same time. I'm more inclined to belief that they teleported - or somehow transferred - to another planet, another reality, or a different plane of existence. Their technology certainly was able to support that - since we don't know exactly what they were working on in a secret place somewhere.

Once again : "(That's what happened to the Dwarves, by the way: their minds froze to death by thinking one thing over and over until poof, gone in a belch of a mountain.)"

Yeah were sure.
Dev's have confirmed they became one with Numidium.

As far as Im aware, this is a compilation of in-game clues together with some out-game dev quotes spun together in an in-game voice to explain what happened.
This is the one that was confirmed to be more or less what happened, though I am unable to find that specific quote at the moment, I know it still exists as Ive seen other people post it.

At no point did I say that would be a GOOD thing. I'm just saying on the past form of redesigns from Skyrim, that'd likely be where they'd end up going.

Not all the Dwemer are gone. I could tell you exactly where to find one.

I was sure someone would let the cat out of the bag. There are others, but in a ghostly form.

Do some research. They weren't shorter than any of the other races. Reading up on the TES lore would tell you that. As a matter of fact, I thought they where TALLER than most races?

You have to make it clear, though, that ISN'T an in-game explanation. If Bethesda chose to ignore it as canon they could, easily. For while it is the most logical explanation it is not officially part of canon until it appears in-game.

It is canon. Bethesda confirmed it. Whether or not you want to accept it doesn't matter, thats up to you.

I take it you guys haven't read some of the Books on the Dwemer in Skyrim insinuating that not all Dwemer went Poof at the same time? wish I could remember the title for you.
