I have a dumb question. What precisely do people mean when they say that the Dwemer became the golden skin of the Numidium? Yes I've read the links provided, but I don't really understand it. Can someone post it in simpler terms?

They are extinct and cannot come back.
Possibly a dlc set in the past would be nice, but I wouldnt expect any meaningful dialogue with Dwemer.
They are just too strange.

The Dwemer aren't extinct. Some people assume they're extinct but they're not. They disappeared somewhere(maybe with the use of an Elder Scroll?) Being extinct replies that they died/were killed off, but there's no Dwemer corpses to confirm that.

It means that the Dwemer ascended to a immortality as the skin of a giant god-statue thingy.

“It was unfashionable among the Dwemer to view their spirits as synthetic constructs three, four, or forty creational gradients below the divine. During the Dawn Era they researched the death of the Earth Bones, what we call now the laws of nature, dissecting the process of the sacred willing itself into the profane. I believe their mechanists and tonal architects discovered systematic regression techniques to perform the reverse -- that is, to create the sacred from the deaths of the profane."

-Baladas Demnevanni

It all begins with the difference between the worldview of the merish and the mannish races.
The mannish races see creation as a gift, as a means to become greater than what was possible before.
The merish races see creation as a trap, the Aedra as jailors and many long to return to the endless possibility of before.

The Dwemer studied the downward cycle of creation in an attempt to undo, reverse it.
Instead of becoming ever smaller and more fragmented, they attempted to uncreate themselves back into one being that would be infinitely greater.
Numidium was to house this being and it would be powered by the Heart of Lorkhan.

That is what is meant by 'golden skin', they were to be the golden mean of the Numidium, the bridge between the Mundane and the Divine, ultimately to return to the first brushstroke of Anu and Padomay and the infinite roads of possibility.

still dont change what you see in the game. and sterotype foe dwarves are all over. Live under ground in massive stone buildings? check. make self opperating construcks such as golems, giant robot secuirty guards? check. experts in rock masonery? check. the orcs are what you are use to in fantasy as well the elves why do dwarfs have to be different by the way only scholars train for hundreds of years in the matter call em dwemmer everyone else call em dwarves.
Orcs and elves are nothing like in LOTR. And can you explain to me why Dwemer armor fits a nord, foe example?

Exactly. Don't you think the Dwarves thought the same way? Then explain to me why Dwemer armor can be found in Dwemer ruins? Because the dwemer wore it. And why does it fit? Because they weren't short...

We are talking lore now, tho. This has nothing to do with lore.

I think I understand it now, thank you.

So basically they didn't like being near the bottom rung of creation, and wanted to transform themselves into God-like entities. By studying the Heart of Lorkhan and other parts of the world, they determined that they could accomplish this through the creation of the Numidium and the binding of themselves to it. Only the plan kind of backfired and they "poofed" out of the plane of Nirn when Kragrenac tampered with the tools.

it would do the same for the dwarf no matter the size thats the way of tes u see if you find armor no matter where and it will fit.. take a bar maids clothes and it turns into barmans clothes. so your comment on it fitting is mute

Orcs are Elves. The laws of nature are dead gods. The dreamsleeve is not only where souls lose their memories on death before returning to new bodies, but can be used as a communication device. The Dwemer are Elves, only known as dwarves because that's what they were to the giants. The Daedra are alive, sort of, but the Aedric gods are dead, sort of. Wood Elves are cannibals, at least when they are at home.

That's the way it is for TES. Some things are different to everything else. This is a good thing, unless you happen to be a hegemonising swarm.

I'm not really sure if you're serious? We are discussing lore here. The feature you're talking about is there because it would be inconvinient to have 2 sets for each armor. If Dwemer armor found in ruins was too small, then you wouldnt be able to wear it. If you want proof on this, try picking up the club of a giant.
