Dwarven Black Bow. As I mentioned earlier a guy saw a sketch of a black figure (presumably a person) with his arms raised to the sun (which is similar to the dwemer structure). Maybe the figure is actually the bow, so try shooting it at the sun or at the dwemer structure

just found this- if you do the dawn guard quests to find the crossbow upgrades, one of the places you go to is this house in the chest next to the desk

^Nice find, but it's a radiant quest, so it can be located anywhere.

Still, cool find.

I'll be honest, I think it is quite possible that this was just something fun put in and we're all looking way to deeply into it. When reading the journal and then entering the room, I think the poor guy was just unlucky enough to live in an abandoned house that was built over a dwarven ruin and he was crazy enough to let the noises of the machinery get to him.
Though this could be Skyrims version of Fallout 3's Dunwhich Obelisk. It was just there at first but was expanded on in a later expansion (Point Lookout)

Aside from that, one thing did pique my interest. "Fire from the deep." Well, this is a dwemer structure, no?
The Aetherial quest from Dawnguard ended in a forge that was rather deep underground...

What I want to know is how the men died. Bjornjolfr presumably went to Solstheim to check on Hroldulf, read the note (bloodstained at the time? later?) and then was...murdered by a deranged Hroldulf? Who then went outside and was attacked by Reavers, hence the shattered axe? And which man (if either) left the Amulet of Mara in the boat?

I need closure, dammit.

No ideas on the relation between "Fire from the deep" and the Aetherius forge?

I think you guys are just way over thinking this, it did not look like it was meant to do anything to me, it is just yet another Dwemer thing dug up. The boat looked more interesting to me, but again just another thing we are not going to be doing anything with. Good luck with the theories though.

This gave me an idea for maybe future tes games or dlc. In this case, you finish killing Miraak. But after a number of in game months, you hear a rumour of "whatever" and you go there and witness a resurrection of miraak. He makes a awesome, chlls down your spine, return and absorbs dragons souls etc. Then the Main quest continues. Giving us another 5-10 hours of main quest content. Wouldn't that be awesome?

Now that would be a awesome, unexpecting idea for a main quest in the next dlc.

Yeah, another 5-10 hours of questing about Miraak, his past, his motives and his backround would be awesome.
We absorbed his soul, so we should be able to explore his memories and his past since now the First and the Last Dragonborn are a single entity...

I was hoping Miraaks body would be more awesome when it died. Like a giant soul explosion. But no. Just a normal soul absorbing.

Wow, thread 3 already? I started thread 2 expecting that to be the end of it. Thanks for opening this one up :)

just found this- if you do the dawn guard quests to find the crossbow upgrades, one of the places you go to is this house in the chest next to the desk

This would imply that DLC do, to an extent, interact with each other, something that was a question of debate on #2.

I think you guys are just way over thinking this, it did not look like it was meant to do anything to me, it is just yet another Dwemer thing dug up. The boat looked more interesting to me, but again just another thing we are not going to be doing anything with. Good luck with the theories though.

I more or less carried the discussion on from thread #1 when Fuji went quite. What went from a few of us talking about what is effectively a dead end, has become a community discussion about Dwemer theories. Now, i'm not saying it's a good idea to have all these ideas and suggestions running around, but it sure is interesting and is better then discussing spears and Werebears over and over :D

FYI: DLCs do, to an extent, interact with each other. I've seen radiant quests from Dawnguard be located on Solstheim.

As for my theory, I found this place finally, and I'm guessing it's just some kind of generator. It also seems to have mind-altering possibilities, given the journals we find. Perhaps it's tied to the Bend Will shout, or whatever Miraak used to control the people on Solstheim? I doubt that's the case, though. It's more likely it was something used by the Dwemer to control minds, rather than Miraak using it.
