Ebony Warrior: More than just a fight?

Post » Mon Feb 04, 2013 1:21 pm

word. its funny cause Alduin, their main bad guy looks like [censored]&--#60;----(POOP) compared to Harkon, Miraak, and the best so far The Ebony Warrior.

Indeed, he does, although I think Alduin would whoop Harkon's ass 1 v 1.

This seems like Shivering Isles where the player, had to fight with himself (an exact copy of the player, but dark) in the Grove of Reflection. A fight to remember and Shadowrend, more than worth it ;)

Do you think anyone cares? And we know you lie and troll here! Maybe you can kill him backstap easy difficult. But try it it on master difficult you cant exactly. And noobs basicly backstaps challenged fighters. Or you have similiar bug with enemys health (had this few times) example you can kill legendary dragon few hits. Try him again master difficult after that come tell us did you lie or did you have bug! These are only options here bug or lie.

Stop getting so aggro at the guy. I had almost the exact same fight with him on normal difficulty; the only reason why he got so close to killing me is because he Fus Ro Dah'd me right off the bat before I was expecting it (because he had no dialogue, so I had to attack him to start the fight) and I almost fell off the damn mountain.
So he's better than you. Stop trying to yell at him and accusing him of this or that. It's pathetic and I was almost embarrassed just reading this post.

Anyway, I think maybe the Ebony Warrior is Bethesda's way of telling you "We know you've done everything we had to offer. So here's a challenge to see what you completionists can REALLY do." By essentially making you fight a better version of yourself.

On another note it would be nice if the assasins in the game that are sent to kill you actually used stealth and poison and attacked by suprise as opposed to charging you on the road and melee atacking you like some forsworn ravager.

No one beats Alduin. He is invulnerable to all forms of damage unless hit by Dragonrend.

Harkon could probably beat the Ebony Warrior as well since he doesn't resist Blood Magic.

For the reflect damage (and this cannot be confirmed until PC release), you're all forgetting about the 100th level heavy armor perk:

Reflect Blows-

Heavy Armor 100, Matching Set
10% chance to reflect melee damage back to the enemy while wearing all Heavy Armor: head, chest, hands, feet on
He's got a full set of ebony and NPC's can use perks.
(Also note, that Ebony Warrior can disarm while shield bashing)

Yes i had forgot about that perk but in this case unless i was seriously unlucky it doesnt apply, i was killed in this fashion about 5 times in a row, so that does not quite stack up with thee 10% chance theory, my guess is that its some what higher, more like 80 or 90%

Dude, hell no. Ebony Warrior would wipe the floor with him. You guys don't seem to understand just how legit this guy is. The only thing that may be able to kill him is Kaarstag. Nothing else. The guy even killed a legendary dragon that attacked us and that I used bend will on. I let them fight one on one with me on top, and he actually killed it. This guy is all pro, my friend. Harkon's a wimp compared to him.

My current char is only lvl 50, but when the time comes, I plan to RP that he is the quintessential forum poster who complains that the game is now boring because he Oghma'd himself up to lvl 81. I plan to shut his mouth for him.

You think beth might have added in a rebound damage on him if your weapon does a certain amount of damage? (like 100)

Does he appear in Sovngarde after you kill him?

Assuming you didn't yet reach that far in the MQ.

Umbra had nothing to do with Shivering Isles. She was a female Bosmer, who got "possessed" by the sword and took it's name to herself. She was also part of Clavicus Vile's quest.

The shadow warrior you had to fight in Shivering Isles, was an exact copy of your character, with stats, skills, abilitites & spells identical to yours -except from coloring (pitch black) and Shadowrend. The best fight in the whole game, I'd say

I wondered what the fuss was about Harkon, I just murdered him before he could even regenerate.

Perhaps, the ebony warrior is an aspect of oneself?

I don't have access to this quest yet because i'm not level 81 but I find it interesting that UESP says that he is a Redguard who uses Dragon Shouts in battles and after you kill him says "at last Sovngarde" which is a Nord thing isn't it? Maybe a hint at what is next, not sure but very interesting, can't wait to get this quest.

It is a nord thing, which some will tell you it doesn't matter, but it does. Books, characters and lore say only Nords who die in battle or live lives as warriors go to Sovngarde. People who say otherwise only have theories, but nothing else saying non nords (besides the guy who saved sovngarde from Alduin, so he hardly can be used as an example) get into sovngarde. If it were true, Beth would've put in some non nords, but there are non to be found in Sovngarde.
