Look guys, I think we can all agree that the game would be wonderful and [censored] awesome, if it didn't run like a giant piece of cow (s h i t) Fix this Splash Damage, this should be their top priority.

I also have problems with ATI 4600, AMD Phenom™ II X4 945 Processor (4 CPUs), ~3.0GHz, Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit, 4096MB RAM (its deskop, not ntb like many ppl has probs with)

The current video card / driver combination does not support OpenGL 3.1 or newer.

I tryed all versions of ATI Catalyst, but nothing helps, will i be ever able to play this game ? :(

If you're getting this specific error while launching the game then you either don't have the latest ATI drivers installed, or your graphic card is obsolete and the drivers available for it don't have support for the OpenGL 3.1 that the game requires.

11.5a hotfix.

I use a 6850 HD sapphire and the 11.5a hotfix broke my game. Not to mention installing them dropped my windows experience score from 7.9/7.9 for graphics quality to 6.3/6.3
had to go back to 11.5 no hotfix version

After recent patches take off the hotfix by a roll back. Driver 11.5 is perfectly fine and thought not as smooth fps as one would hope it is still miles better after a rollback and may lead to less crashes.
Please do so before asking about it.

I'm on a 5770 and I had no trouble before or after updating my drivers (no hotfix). I updated my C++ and DX before I installed the game too. It runs smooth with no noticable drops in fps.

Side note: How do I get my fps to display in-game?

Fix the [censored] issue splash, at least tell us your working on it, rather than being silent.....

This thread must be continued to push to the top to make sure Bethesda and Splash keep their priorities straight.

Sorry to hear other ATI ownerrs suffering still. I have had no problems attaining 50+ fps (1650x1050, med settings, no VSync post Proc) and 30-40fps (1920x1080, same settings).

I updated to the 11.5a hotfix prior to installation, from 11.5.

Have yet to encounter 'gridding', touch wood (or nearest synthetic anologue).

Two CTD to date and only after hours of play (GPU pushing 80deg).

Just to add my experience, I've been running two xfired HD 6950 PCS++ and the game's been smooth as silk since launch on Cat 11.2.

A mate of mine is running a 5750 smoothly too.

My sympathies to all with troubles.

If you're having trouble with your ATI card, please post the following:

Video Chipset
Processor
Motherboard

I have two ATI systems (4870 and a 6950), and they both run the game well. If you want help, post your specs. If you want to cry and whine, then give the Add Reply button a break.

1. define trouble
2. define "run the game well"

HD5870
Q9550
ASUS P5Q Pro
Video drivers: Catalyst 11.5 Hotfix RC3

Trouble: FPS down to 30 and below on some sceneries, especially on container city, textures and shadows on high, rest disabled via Brink Config

Just a hint, everything below 50 FPS I wouldn't call "run the game well", with all due respect.

I traded mine in for a PC copy, I get 30ish fps.. ATI card here

my room mate has a rig similar to mine, but an nvidia card.. and the game runs flawlessly for him

hoping SD can fix it!

I have ATI HD 4890.

Only Catalyst 11.3 works. But performance is still to bad. Lags, low fps.
The game isnt worth buying in this state...

In a couple of days I will upgrade my system with an ATI (or AMD? :P) 5850... I hope I will have not problems with a supposed better Card...

Complete system info:
Intel Quadcore Q8400 @2.66GHz
Memory 3.25Gb (4Gb)
Windows XP
Sapphire ATI Radeon HD4670, 512Mb GDDR3, Core @750MHz, Memory @873MHz, Drivers Ver.11.5, App.Profiles Ver.:11.5

I have all settings maxed with a 6950 and pull a constant 50+ fps. Jealous?

How much ram do you have? Have you tried turning Catalyst AI all the way up?

***EDIT***
Don't upgrade to a 5000 series Radeon. They barely outperform the 4000 series. Wait until you can get a true step up.

***EDIT***
If you're having hard drive issues, which largely go unseen until your drive is about to die, it will appear sometimes as lag or stuttering. A lot of people with poor performance issues may have hard drives that are working on failing.

Don't pretend to know what your talking about, no offense but there's nothing you can do to help anyone on this forum, unless you are a dev member, in which case you need to get your ass in gear and fix the engine. The problem good sir, is not with anyone's rigs but a flawed problem with the game, how it forces certain options like an ambient occlusion for shadows WTF? and what not. I seriously doubt you can help me, thanks for your offer though, as pointless as it was. My hard drive is brand spanking new, as are many others in this forum.
