So is everyone with an ATI card having trouble?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 9:33 pm

Well, I have an ATI 5870 with an i7 and 8gb of ram, and I'm getting about 15-25 FPS. I have heard that the problem is just with ATI cards. Anyone else have good specs, but have low fps with an ATI card?

Edit: I got the 11.4 drivers to work for me, I get good fps and no gpu crashes, just the random game crashes every now and then

Yeah, I've been having terrible performance so far. It is a shame, because an AMD X6 1100T @ 3.9Ghz, 2 Sapphire TE 5850 2gb, and 8 Gb or RAM is (supposedly) more than sufficient to run Brink. Even after doing a completely clean install of the 11.5a drivers I'm still getting terrible frame rates. Another thing I have noticed that even with CrossfireX enabled Brink only uses one of my cards.

Ya it seems that way, I posted these specs in another topic:

So I have a gateway FX6840,

processor: intel core i7 870 @2.93GHz 2.93Ghz

8.00 GB of ram

video card is an ati radeon HD 5750, memory size 1024MB

and I use windows 7 home premium 64-bit.

And in another I mentioned that I couldn't even get the 11.5 driver to work at all, much less for brink itself.
I'm getting a little sick and tired of games having technical issues like this :brokencomputer:

Ugh. I truly wish people would stop throwing around the stupid 11.5a drivers. They help in no way what-so-ever.

Well after some research, I updated my drivers to 11.5 and everything is fine now, getting good performance. I did not do the 11.5a hotfix.
So I guess some ATI cards still arnt working well with this game.

The 11.5a hotfix makes my screen yellow all the time, not just in the game... fantastic.

Haven't had any issues with my 6990. Is the 'patch' worth getting anyways?

Well I've tried doing the 11.5, 11.5a hotfix, and the 11.3 catalyst. None of them worked, not for the game; I didn't even get that far. After I was done downloading it I received an error msg saying that I either have no ati drivers installed or they aren't working properly. So maybe I have a whole other thing to deal with I dont know anymore.

Kinda getting tired and I think i'm just going to wait for something to happen. I have a 5750 btw
