I find it hilarious that in your particular post, you felt the need in include your gamerscore!! lol

Some people just like the points. Others not so much. No big deal. A bit of a silly reason to go back to PS2. I'm assuming it's more because of a particular game you enjoy that's not on your 360. I don't think I could bare going back to a PS2 at this point.

honestly i added it to add to the point that people are going a bit overboard with the GS deal.
@Fishmandan (What I shall call you from now on.) Honestly I dont care if people want to collect them or not, its just another collection to them, what I hate are achievement [censored]s.
Yes its a bit arrogant to call every one of them 12 year olds who play MW2 all day, but thats what ive seen from the majority of the new age community. (By new age community I mean kids who think they're pro gamers and the 360 is their first console.)
Dan is an exception because he likes to play the game and collects the achieves as a hobby. He doesnt go out and buy everything he can get out of a gamestop and grind for hours on end for a gamerscore.

Ehhh, I think trophies adds a little flavor into motivating you to do something. I still need to get the neutral/evil trophies, but I dont like being a baddy :cryvaultboy:

Achievements are the only thing keeping Gamefly in business...

As for quest achievement goes, 20 of them make sense since they're going to be rewarded for only the page-turners like in Point Lookout. Only 3 out of 5 quests had achievements in that DLC. That's how it's meant to be.

Almost 1000 trophies for me. :P I think that's good but some people have double me. Seen some with 5000.

Since we're bragging about our gamer levels, I have 402 trophies and am a level 8 on PSN. I do have the platinum for FO3. I spend a lot of my gaming hours playing stuff that I've already collected all the trophies on like FO3 or games/platforms that don't have trophy support. I still play on my NES, SNES, GameBoy, PS2, PSP, Genesis, and various computers.

To be totally clear: FNV branches quite a bit. It is impossible to get all of those quest-specific achievements on a single playthrough. It will take several to get them all. The point of doing that is that every playthrough you'll walk away with a handful of achievements no matter how you play.

It's pretty annoying when I play a game to completion and still only have 100 achievement points to show for it.
Doesn't matter since someone could have multiple saves for different paths, especially right before if they asked an NPC to join a particular faction. It's called save exploits pertaining you make several saves based upon branching choices.
The way I see it, save A will be NCR, Save B would possibly be with Caesar's Legion and so on. That's why for FALLOUT 3 I kept a save from a way earlier playthrough and decided to go the evil karma level and slavery achievements. That save is only at level 6 while my goody two shoes is at level cap. No idea how I'll go about doing neutral. I've done the same things for Fallout 1 and 2. Have a highly intelligent character for a "normal" playthrough of the game and another character which is extremely low intelligence just to see what sort of amusing dialog options would turn up.
My goody little two shoes character is still exploring the Capitol Wasteland.
Actually the achievements don't matter until they have nice individual Vault Boy icons for them. In fact I'm also wondering what the Vault Boy icons will be for alot of things in game. Glad to have alot of the original back for FALLOUT: New Vegas.
I was going to mention something else but I'd be going too off topic for this thread.

I don't understand. Why is it impossible to get the quest-specific achievements on a single play-through?

Because I don't think its possible to side with NCR/CL/House/Yourself all in one go.

Because some quests require a choice of allegiance and (iirc) it has been said, that you have to pick your side at some point if you desire to do certain things.

Ohhh I thought it was like Fallout 3. I am having different feelings about this. I know I played Fallout 3 many times & wouldn't that mean there will be less content on just 1 play-through in New Vegas? Its like they are forcing you on playing it multiple times. Then again the story maybe better and improved role-playing.

I'll hate having to side with the bad buys (I percieve to be bad) but if it helps others find their Role Player Niche, who am I to disagree?.

Well I'm 99% certain that the achievements are only for critical path. And yes, some content will be inaccessible in one playthrough. This is how it should be. Obviously you won't be doing parts of the main quest as well as sidequests for CL if you side with NCR.

We don't really know anything about how one playthrough will stack up against a playthrough of Fallout 3 as far as quantity of content goes. But in my opinion it's a waaay better approach to cut off content based on your choices, even if it would make a single playthrough shorter. It's in my opinion quite vital in a Fallout game to have the possibility to create a character and really have that character be able to impact the world in a meaningful way.
I'd also say that one of the absolute worst parts of F3 was how it forced you to work with the Brotherhood and how the Enclave was "the big bad" (didn't like the Enclave in Fallout 2 either for that matter).

I'd say that one of the best pieces of news that has been released so far is that there is no single bad guy in New Vegas, it will all depend on what factions you wish to support. I really hope people will take notice of this when the game comes out, because that freedom of choice is exactly what more RPGs need.

I'd rather have multiple playthroughs and assess different critical paths, If you completely demolish a game in one go it doesn't give you any incentive to come back and really try something new or different completely opposite of what you might do normally.

I personally like the path Obsidian went with it and even though FO3 was a great game that I enjoyed you had one of two endings (either your a d o u c h e or a martyr) that were pretty awful, then we got Broken Steel which showed that all of the things we worked so hard doing had literally no affect on the world around us. We ended up with basically no reason to want to play the game again with FO3 (At least in my opinion) its either be a jerk or be nice guy, we need some serious shades of gray & knowing Obsidian I'm confident that is what we're going to be getting. :tops:

Can someone from Obsidian or Bethesda answer me a couple questions? There are 20 quest specific achievements and there are 4 different paths so... 5 quest achievements for each playthrough siding with someone. So, does that means there will only be 5 quests for each branch? And if so how much time to complete each quest or the whole mainquest in one playthrough (not counting with the time expending exploring around and doing side quests) ?

They look good, now the people who want to Platinum it will have to play the game in loads of diferent paths. And NO KARMA trophies/achievements? Excellent.

yes, i like this. i didn't like doing a play threw trying to stay nuetral just for an achievment.

By the way, will we be able to view the achievements like we can on L4D games?
In them I can check to see how many zombies I've killed and how many more I need to kill.
Example: Kill 53000 infected [killed 23489/53000 left]

Because it's annoying as [censored] to not see how long it's left until you get it.

I am pretty sure some of them are side quests & what is the 4th path? You got NCR, the Legion, & the Citizens of Vegas.

The 4th path is solo. No factions. I am excited to see how it plays out. I don't think any of the achievements are for sidequests. Based on the amount of sidequests that were described that weren't listed and the amount that haven't been talked about at all, it probably just wasn't plausible to fit every quest as an achievement like Fallout 3 did. Also, I think 5 quests is fine for the main quest, honestly. There will be plenty to do besides them.

IMO, these Achievements/Trophies seem pretty basic. I was hoping for more creativity in these achievements but they're alright. BTW, is they're going to be an Achievement/Trophy in New Vegas like the "The Bigger They Are..." in Fallout 3? They gotta have Behemoths or something huge in the game...

You sir, are wrong. Some of the achievements are critical path, some are for notable sidequests.
