I still fail to see the importance of achievements after all this time. Who cares? What's the point of it? I mean, I like that the game can recognize what you do and give you a little title for it (Alpha Protocol did this excellently) but what is with the obsession of showing it off online?
I don't understand.

I have to say, i agree with this.
I buy games for personal enjoyment,i spend my money wisely when getting games.
I dont give a monkey's backside about gamer score etc....some people do ( each to thier own i suppose ),but i dont,i dont waste money on games to add to a game score.
In my opinion thats what games are not about.I've played so many playthroughs in fallout & oblivion i've lost count.I had a freind who had fallout 3,he got all the achievements then traded the game in,whats the point in that....he's missed out the point of the game in my view, just seems ridiculous. There is still achievements i have'nt got for fallout 3,& like i've said i've lost count on how many playthroughs i've done.I enjoy exploring, surviving, scavanging, fighting, reading about the history of the story etc....not running from one place to another just to get numbers added to more meaningless numbers.....i know people who have bought some shocking games ,just to get scores out of them, more money than sense in my view.
Anyway just my view
