I've rooted for England all my life but their team this year just isn't strong enough to defeat the American team

What?

Seriously, USA aren't bad but they're nowhere near as good as the English. England are one of the favourites and USA's best hope is a last 16 place...

I hope that's a joke :P.

On paper we're around, erm, 10,0000000 times better. Football isn't played on paper though :sadvaultboy:

Oh dear Celtic, oh dear. The desperation hurts.

I think it was rolling a giant metal ball of dung, not too sure though. It was about as ambiguous as a huge Dung Beetle sculpture can possibly be....

...and if we lose to the Americans, I'll... I'll.... I don't know what I'll do but it won't be holy.

I have ITV now, I think I preferred the Dutch, but any tournament with dung beetles means I can survive Rosenthal and company.

And the advertising is scary. Football magazines hmm fair enough, alcohol offers sure Friday night footie, but then I am faced with 'Rustler' burgers and a finger who invades a woman's house for reasons that may involve the local constabulary or at the very least happiness, then cooks a burger for a man watching footie and enjoys the afterglow with said chap as he has his burger and eats it. I wonder why I have to tolerate this rubbish to watch sport? That was sad.

I am sad. I don't have the right cable to connect my Virgin box to my surround sound, so I can't get the proper football atmosphere

Working in an electronics store has its advantages, such as watching the world cup on a TV wall with complete surround sound.

[censored] the customers, they can watch with us if they want but we're not helping them out, it's the world cup ffs

EDIT: wtf I keep using the Icelandic acronym for the world cup, sorry about that

3-1 Mexico, though I dearly dearly hope not. Watching all the opening spiel has made the South African team so much more endearing, they look like they really want it.

I like predictions, so I'll predict a 1-0 win for SA.

South Africa 3-2 I'm a romantic.
The best internet coverage is being provided by betting syndicates here. It's as good as the tv and yet free as it is supposed to be according to FIFA. And very legal btw.

5 goals in this match? Naaah. However if you're right I'll do like what Maradona promised this year...

Yeh Mexico have started well, SA look really nervous and from a technical ability standpoint - pretty bad. They're havong trouble even squaring the ball right now, right now their only plausible route to a goal looks like it's going to be on the break.

I don't think Yiasemi will be too far off with 5 goals. Mexico could've had a couple and if SA had played the right ball before that free kick Pienaar bent over then they were through.

And the first SA free kick was freebie, arm contact at best

And both teams have no defence. Slaver.

Yeah as was the Mexican booking. The ref is definitely showing home bias here.

Exactly :P

Also South Africa need to learn the concept of passing in front of the player. All their balls are to feet and killing the momentum of every counterattack.
