I think that the advice offered by the OP is quite sound and should help for a large number of players with freezing problems.
In fact, anyone who's owned a PS3 for very long ought to know how to get in to Safe Mode and how to restore the file system. It's about as basic as knowing how to clear the cache for Xbox 360 players.
Just my opinion.
I do agree with everyone who said that it really svcks that any of us have to resort to methods such as turning off auto-save, disabling internet connection and saving every 10 minutes. I personally agree with the players who feel that the game was rushed, had very little QA testing and still needs some serious patching. However, it is what it is and all we can do is keep waiting and, in the mean time, keep letting Obsidian know what problems we're experiencing so that they can get a handle on things.
Off Topic:
Aleister, no offense man but you need to chill out some and not be so defensive. Getting in to off topic personal exchanges is the surest way to get this thread locked and that would be a shame since it would then fade off to the back pages and stop being a help to those who need it. I'm not attacking, just offering some constructive advice.
