Forum Update Discussion

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 9:00 am

It seems that there is still some issues with the forums.
I just had "error 500" or something and I could not connect to the forums for like 5-10 minutes

Happens to me when i try to post sometime, it loads so slow and almost act like it isnt gonna post but if i leave it and go back my post is there

Dear Administrators,

Will you optimise this forum or is this considered finished?

Because in my opinion, this is a downgrade instead of upgrade. I like the looks, new organisation and all that but the functionality is not here. The forum is slow, threads open like there's bunch of pictures in posts, scrolling is delayed and more.

I really hope that you will fix it so that it is functional once again.

I'm personally seeing the exact opposite. Threads and forums are loading fully in 2-3 seconds, and I'm on satellite, which is extremely slow.
Smooth as butter on this end. =/

Yeah, the IT guys are about so I assume still working on getting the forum sorted out, and will probably continue for quite some time yet.

Loading wise, these forums now for me are as fast, if not slightly faster than the old ones.

I'm mostly on Oblivion mods and I find it slower. I rarely browse Community discussion so I can't compare it. It could be because of background.

Main thing is answered: it is being worked on.
Functionality should have priority over design.

I just noticed how similar Bethesda forums are compared to http://www.mektek.net/forums/index.php?showforum=1.
I was browsing both forums at same time and for a second I thought "Whoah! did we had update? BGSF looks much better now!". :P

Yeah, that and the stars are my only problems.

Pages open with 30 posts now, so that extra 10 might be it. Try changing it back to 20.

They are still using 2.3.6 though.
