Future DLC Suggestions #6

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 3:10 pm

I personally hate the nitpickiness (nice vocab) of the calls for skill point distribution changes. Unless you get more skill points per level to put towards skills, it just seems like you personally want the game to be harder for you.. personally.

No thanks. I like fun.

I agree with Gabriel. When I put in skill Points I just put them in any way. I can make a character with almost 100s in all of them, I want to think about what I want like perks.

I really think they should make a large area 51 dlc that has alieans and tons of new tech and armor and guns. Area 51 is really close to vegas so it would work.

WHY do you keep on insisting on aliens. Why do you think there has to be aliens have to be in area 51. No one [censored] knows whats in there.

Option to have our level go up.

I like it at 30. Dead Money which I can't get yet makes it 35. If anymore make the cap go up I would like it to be optional, unless you (devs) have a way to balance things out without adding bullet sponges.

A systems like this would be great. 1-49 is one skill point. 50-74 costs two skill points 75-100 costs three skill points. Oh and bring back skilled as a trait.

Not nearly as dumb as your stance on NCR vs Legion combat techniques, etc.

I think a DLC involving a more opened up wasteland, since most of the map is not in use currently (Though it could be in future dlcs). Some form of enhanced combat, where enemies are more tactical like from that one mod for Fo3, 'Combat Enhanced' I believe. Possibly give us a special menu option for 'Game Enhancement' To add what we think we need (out of a decent amount of options) Such as:

---Level cap (people who want to be god can be god, and those that want a challenge can have more of a challenge, through disabling the level cap or decreasing it, possible eliminating previously earned levels.
---Difficulty (Better equipped enemies, larger groups of them, even enemies in larger concentration) This could be split up into different complex sections for those who don't want for example larger enemies with better equipment.
even tampering with how fast the meters deplete on hardcoe.
---Item rarity (enemies wont have nearly as much ammo left, or items on them, as if supplies are running out).
---More weapons and quests (I would hope so, am I right?) I would personally like to help restore some of Freeside for quests, because that place is in need of some help, for example. These weapon ideas could be taken out of the thread about what weapons we would want to see in future dlcs. So it would pretty much be more of a Shivering Isles in size, perhaps? Or even helping the Brotherhood establish it's power above ground again through quests and not ending dialogue, I want to be there, dammit! (Unless you hate the Brotherhood, then maybe the Enclave.. unless you hate them too).
---Back to the 'Game Enhancement' options. Another thing I liked from mods was the one that had the travelers in the wasteland, for immersion, escorting them to different places for rewards or just killing them for loot. The options for 'Game Enhancement' would allow for options similar to that mod. (How many travelers in a cell, how often do certain events happen, ect) If you ask me the Mojave is a little to... Desolate and empty, and can cause mild depression in younger teens.
---Improving certain weapon's accuracy, a modern weapon that has a rifled barrel should have more accuracy, a good example of this is the BAR. This could be an option through the 'Enhancement' This would also increase enemy accuracy, as well.
---More staging grounds for the Legion and maybe NCR (The NCR have a good amount of camps as it is), Because the current conflicts are small and pathetic. Let's look at Nelson for example... Forlorn Hope soldiers couldn't take it, yet they had like double the amount of soldiers in the camp than the amount of Legion at Nelson.. which was like 7 people and two dogs.. I mean come on, Seriously? It would be nice to see some stalemates between the Legion and NCR in some areas, to show that the NCR can't hold it's ground all the time, people shooting at each other on both sides, but using a sort of smarter AI that knows how to take cover could prevent a battle lasting 30 seconds.
---The Legion needs some more influence in the Mojave.
---And also, we need to look at this from a more realistic side (Even on a game that lacks basic realism, in certain aspects.) that one person can't be an all-powerful being capable of single-handedly taking out a whole legion or NCR camp with close to no effort. Where's the hiding behind cover and trying to not get shot at and allowing your squadmates (Companions if you have any) to help cover you by supressing fire and such. Which the one mod I mentioned before seemed to accomplish at least where npcs needed cover when getting shot at and reloading and not standing out in the open.
---With 'Enhancement' the option to increase bullet damage so that you can feel like a normal human being, If you want to feel normal.

And also mentioned above is Legion Quests, Legion Quests, Legion Quests. I'm no 'Legion really devoted fan' but I agree.. The NCR is more of a favored faction in this game, because of all the stuff you can do for them.Tthe Legion is insignificant in this aspect even though it's one of the main factions, and not a sub faction.
To add to this I've gathered some of this stuff from my time playing Fo3 mods (at least what I can remember from playing them) so, I'm not trying to steal any ideas here if it's in a mod.

Anything to add from the community (props or 'that blows, you got your ideas from playing some of the mods'), and NO VEHICLES..... For New Vegas anyways.
EDIT: A DLC based more on the ideas of the community.

Well at the end of dead money, each of the "contestants" all mentioned something about two couriers battling under the same flag or some kind of mumbo jumbo like that. i would like that to be a the next dlc. an add on after the games finish. kinda like broken steel maybe...

yah not really i have a pretty good reason why ncr is better plus everyone else likes them more than the legion heck i think that the legion should be a sub faction. you dont hear many people saying ohhhh yah that legion ending was the bomb, yah dont here that ever, the ncr has a way better story by far

Really, then why don't you come on back over to the Legion vs NCR thread and give us those reasons.
All you did last time was say that Legion was evil, wrong and that they were gonna fall apart while saying NCR was good period.

We're going offtopic here.

Anyway, I'd like to have a medical history terminal prototype placed just outside of goodsprings.
It was a design just before the bombs dropped that never made it to full production.
The purpose of this machine was for people to enter their medical history to a huge database as a form of public poll within the medical area, to see how many citizens of America had problems with their livers or were bald et cetera.

When activating this machine you get to exchange your two traits or if you didn't pick any at doc mitchell then pick two.
It will allow for new traits to be included in the DLC's.

Why this?
Cause when I start a new character the message "Sierra Madre has now been loaded" don't appear until "after" I've left goodsprings area and finalized my character.
Which means that new traits simply cannot be picked at Doc Mitchell's house.
So it will allow for Obsidian to bring in new traits with each DLC and for us players to be able to get them early on.

This machine has a broken radio transmission going out with a super small quest which only gives +25exp. (In order to show players where it is.)

Well it's a quick pitch so I'm sure it makes no sense, but still, America was shady during pre-war.

Hollywood. I think it'd be awesome to walk along the Walk Of Fame and pass a Ghoul dressed as Marilyn Monroe or Groucho Marx. The Sunset Strip, Grauman's Chinese Theater, Roosevelt Hotel, KnickerBocker Hotel, Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Of course the countless movie and television studios. An escape artist in a straight jacket and chains hoisted above the street. I think it'd be extremely fun to play and explore through and would be as big as say The Bordwalk from Fallout 3.
