Future DLC Suggestions #6

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 3:53 pm

Hollywood. I think it'd be awesome to walk along the Walk Of Fame and pass a Ghoul dressed as Marilyn Monroe or Groucho Marx. The Sunset Strip, Grauman's Chinese Theater, Roosevelt Hotel, KnickerBocker Hotel, Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Of course the countless movie and television studios. An escape artist in a straight jacket and chains hoisted above the street. I think it'd be extremely fun to play and explore through and would be as big as say The Bordwalk from Fallout 3.

NOW THATS A DLC!

How about 50 levels?

At level 45 you could send Bethesda $59,95 and an X-Boxtop and receive a secret Vault Boy decoder ring.
At level 50 you could step away from your mouse (or game pad) and let the game play itself . You are that good.

ijust don't get why everyone treats X-Box better than PC and PS3, all of them have their good points and their bad points, what's the difference?
:vaultboy:

The superior versatility of the Xbox in business, graphics, communications and recreational programs is the reason Xbox is #1. Besides, most programmers use the Xbox to write the millions of line of game code and Xboxes are found on almost all desttops in the Fortune 500. Think of all those LAN parties that run off of Xbox servers, then you will instantly understand Bethesda Software's reasoning. Instant gratification via Microsoft cash had absolutely nothing to do with this decision. IBM will eventually swap its mainframes out for the much smaller footprint Xboxes. Hope this helped answer your question.

Maybe Orange County could serve as a west coast Point Lookout.

Your opinion unless you can provide actual facts.

Besides, most programmers use the Xbox to write the millions of line of game code

Source? Devs build all games on PCs due to the greater versatility. Xbox is a gaming console.

and Xboxes are found on almost all desktops in the Fortune 500
.

Source?

Think of all those LAN parties that run off of Xbox servers,

Source? Or should we think of imaginary lan parties running off xbox servers?

then you will instantly understand Bethesda Software's reasoning. Instant gratification via Microsoft cash had absolutely nothing to do with this decision. IBM will eventually swap its mainframes out for the much smaller footprint Xboxes. Hope this helped answer your question.

Again source? Xbox is a gaming console that these days is prehaps on a par with a low to mid level PC.

Ooops. On topic.

I'd just be happy to see a DLC (or several) that fill in all those little loose ends in the story. ie: the courier who stepped aside in favor of the main character.

To the Capitol Wasteland! DLC. Wher the Courier could help the BOS or destroy it for good.

No thanks. Besides what reason would we have for travelling all the way to the other side of the US?

Yeah also the BoS is located in California. Aside from the ludicrous +1'500 mile distance and just downright lazy idea to go back and see what we've already seen in an earlier game of course.

It could a simulator vacation for the rich in New Vegas. They can just add in all the loot from it in the locker of whoever runs the simulation. Think a bigger version of Vault 112 for Vegas.

I would like to go to Anchorage, although I fear it's a little too far away :')

I don't mean the Alaska mountains like in FO3:OA, but the remains of the actual city.

why not a DLC based off of old vegas using some of the first hotels/casinos to hit the strip.
Hotel Last Frontier, in 1942. Organized crime figures such as New York's Bugsy Siegel took interest in the growing gaming center leading to other resorts such as the Flamingo, which opened in 1946, and the Desert Inn, which opened in 1950.

A sim of Hollywood could be intersting but it would have no effect on the game world so what would be the point?

Alot of people say they like the post-apocalyptic "atmospshere of FO3" but seems like many also like having alot of buildings survive. FO1 many locations have been wiped off the map and only building that made it look like the ones you see in the footage of Nagasaki after the A-bomb. To me thats post-apocalyptic. Would be dumb to have a future fallout where Hollywood some how survived and looks alot like the strip while the rest of LA looks like Nagasaki did.

Well I am going by pre-FO3 wasteland and LA was gone along with every other city. It would be cool to be walking in ruins and look down and notice that some stones have stars on them. Easter Eggs could be names of people that have stars on the walk of fame.

Ill be pleased with anything that is more than just a new area and more errand running quests.

It would need....

AT LEAST 10 hours of additional gameplay.
A deep and interesting story with characters that I actually care about.
Like Dead Money, it would need to give combat a fresh flavor. But not in the same way Dead Money did.
It would also need to massively improve companion interaction, this is just something I think is necessary.

And, to make the characters feel more alive, we would need a boost to facial textures and movements, as well as some grease for the PC's and NPC's joints. Theyre still a bit stiff, not as bad as 3 but it could still use some improvement.

These are just some rules to start off the DLC by, additional upgrades and the story would come about when the foundation of it was layed.

In other words, I want an expansion, not a typical DLC.

I'd have to say that my top DLC for Fallout: New Vegas would be a return to the cyborg sewers, Sleeper Base, and Base Cochise from the original Wasteland. It was such a great storyline/adventure back in 1983...imagine what could be done with it now!

I like that idea. And personally, if we want to get a truly amazing DLC, then we need to COMPLETELY forget that FO 3 ever happened. EVER. Not to burst the bubbles of many of the people on this forum, but, Fallout 3 was not Fallout. That may sound a little idiotic at first but with all factors considered Fallout 3 was little to nothing like the first two. The main issue being that 3 didnt do nearly as good a job of creating an atmosphere that presented you with the faults of man, and the horrors of nuclear war than the previous two did. A bunch of half destroyed buildings and broken down roads doesnt do that, hell, the landscape of FO 3 looked more like LA after a large earthquake. Another problem with 3 was that not only did it not capture a feel for the pre war worlds mistakes, it didnt have the creppy 1950s feel WITH the previous atmosphere.

But, out of all the issues I had with three, the biggest one was how it tricked itself into thinking it was smart. It THOUGHT it was presenting you with a world in ruins that, weather you realize it or not, was a lot like ours. I dont know about you, but when I see a bunch of age old robots, still going about there work, as if nothing had ever happend, it frightens me a little bit. There not even malfunctioning, well, I know I'm not doing a very good job of explaining it but....okay just go read "There Will Come Soft Rains" by Ray Bradbury. I want the game to give me the feel that that story gives me.

Can we please get a tame Gecko as a companion?
Why do we always have to have a stupid dog? (Even if Rex is a robo-dog it's still a dog..)
