Game Jam to DLC? what would you like to see in it.

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 9:45 am

I would like an expansive new land to travel.
I would also like all of the old spells back alongside spell creation.
Now from the video, seasonal changes would be great.
I would also like the inclusion of spears and pikes, I am pretty sure it said pikes, if that's the case I hope we can use a staff as a blunt weapon as well.
Dragon mounts might be interesting but how could you mount one.
I am all for the new spells they shown, it would not be to much to ask for new spells and all of the old ones and spell creation would it, I think not.
The things they shown that increase the graphics is a small plus.
I would rather have more bug fixes over the kill cams.
Hopefully they add something in where vampires are actually more menacing, I do like the new feeding animation but I agree with the post above vampires need an overhaul.

Vampires need a rehaul. I still think they're mostly backward; Feeding should make you stronger, not dumb you down to the weakest.

The only improvement from Oblivion is that wandering around in the sun won't kill you, you'll just be gimped a little. That's fine as far as I'm concerned.

But there's still no incentive to be one. No quests, no clans, nothing.

Would love to see the Thalmor story expanded in DLC, right after a civil war and dragons decimating Skyrim, surely it's the perfect time for another all-out attack from the Thalmor? And hopefully we would be able to choose sides!

Just one question... to the people who want spell creation... Do you just want the same thing oblivion had? sliders...? if so that would be a downgrade on magic..

Well if you sided with stormcloaks, Skyrim is alone to fend off the thalmor. While the Empire is losing the power it once had regardless of whether it maintained control of Skyrim. If i was a Thalmor ruler I'd be preparing to finish off the Empire once and for all

this isnt from the game jam but i feel like sharing this idea anyway. I play as a mage and mainly use frost magic but i feel that there are not enough exciting frost spells in the game. My favourites are Blizzard and Ice Storm, i find the others boring to use, and that is why i feel that there should be more spells, especially frost spells. I would like a frost spell that works like fire ball except instead of firing straight, it is launched at an arch like a grenade then exploding on impact, sending ice shards everywhere. the spell could be called frost bomb or something haha. the spell dual casted could have a chance to knock enemies down or send them into the air. the spall could be marked as an expert spell as it does sound pretty powerful . please note this idea as i do feel that there is a lack of exciting spells when playing as a mage. i do want to say that i love skyrim though, best game ever man ! :D

They stormed the Imperial City IIRC and if the Empire signed the concordat then the Thalmor surely won. Plus everyone knows elves are superior!

Edit: This is making me want to go read all the books on the war now

Edit Edit: Didnt read about the Battle of the Red Ring, thought the war ended with the sack of the Imperial City  guess no Elven invasion for me then... ah well one can dream

Then the empire re-took the city and destroyed the remaining thamlor.

IMO the white gold thingy was just a quick peace.. the empire could of destroyed them once and for all but they would suffer heavy loses..

edited for off topicness- I would enjoy many things from the game jam seasonal weather, snow prints, spears and flails, those new perk trees, Giant mud crabs, stealth enhancements ( they should really look to thief 1 & 2 for stealth motivation ) and others.

Nah, none survived the Crimson Scars. Only Rowly Eardwulf. A vampire clan would be nice. Two warring vampire factions.

Like the Volkihar and Sanguinare competing for the favor of the newly awakened Lamae Beolfag. Both clans launch ever bolder and more frequent attacks on not only each other, but also the mortal settlements in an attempt to earn her favor. This causes the Vigilants of Stendarr to form a specialized group, specifically devoted and trained to slay Vampires; the "Dawnguard". So it basically becomes a three way war between the brutal and ruthless Volkihar, the stealthy and manipulative Sanguinare, and the righteous mortals.

The disease that makes you a volkihar is called sanguinare, sanguinare vampiris to be specific and they are one in the same, just because they have the same game mechanis doesn't make them not volkihar, its just bethesda's doing which is why a lot of people are posting for improvements to make them more different from the previous vampire but a war between factions is something most if not all of us want added and more quests of course.

Feeding system needs to change obviously which could easily be done by reversing the stages so one gets stronger by feeding.
Add Physical bonuses such as brawling, one/two-handed weapons and blocking.
Increased speed and jump height.
more frost spells with a vampiric twist.

I don't see vampires as evil. I just don't. Regardless of their nature. But I guess for those people who believe in such morals and stuff like that, it's good because they can try to symphatize with the faction.

Vampires are not inherently evil, i never said that but as former humans they can be evil, very evil actually if it was in their nature.
That is the great thing about vampires, they can come with different morals and ethics. I prefer the evil nomadic types like in near dark.

To other posters, you don't have to choose just what you would like from the game jam, this thread is about three things, one is what you want from the game jam, the second is what you would like to see that is inspired from the game jam and third is just whatever you would like to see from the top of your head. so there was no off topic-ness in your ideas.

^ Why they didn't introduce different feeding methods is beyond me. It just screams laziness that they could not have feeding animations for finishers, sneak attacks and/or a similar feeding method for dead bodies as werewolves use. They just reused the subtle and non lethal method that the Cyrodiilic Order use.

That, is extremely irritating.

Agreed but at least there may be a lethal vampire feeding method as it was in the game jam.

and to stordrage, building ones own house is awesome but i doubt that would be implement as its too complicated especially for consoles.

Spears would be great but if they make a perk tree for it then better add more perk points since one can only get 80 perks maximum.

Apparently the next patch (1.05) is going to include the usual game fixes and whatnot, alongside some features from the GameJam video. The only confirmed one is the kill-cams for ranged attacks, but I'm confident that many more will get in as well :)

The ability to upgrade spells, similar to Smithing. Upgraded spells would have the same stats as buying the higher-level book spells, and would need some sort of cost. But it's a pain trying to find high-level spell books, as they appear LONG after your level is high enough to need them.

I'm hoping for female manniquens in my house so that my female character can properly display her wedding dress. And of course I can look at the female versions of my armor too.
