Games You Regretted Buying?

People talking about Red Faction Guerilla really need to try Red Faction 1, it's way better. Since the action takes place mostly in a mine the destruction is actually used to awesome effect, you can get through areas quicker by blasting through mine walls and such. It's much more strategic, instead of Guerilla's "ZOMG BLOW UP DAT BUILDING!!!!"

2 is also good, but has less destructibility.

The platforming is kinda basic, but I mostly enjoy building stuff and pissing around with explosives and flying houses and stuff in create mode.

I'll stick to Minecraft for that :P

Wipeout: Fusion
Reason: It was recommended to me. I don't even like racing games.

Generally considered the worst in the series. I got HD in the download, it's actually quite fun.

I always felt minecraft was kinda basic for what you can build. Some people have built entire Operating Systems in LBP. I built one myself, but it's kinda juryrigged looking.

I can′t say I regret any game I bought because I tend to test them first before I buy them. Instead I will name the game I regret most thinking about buying.

Heroes of Might and Magic V. After playing III and IV which were both great games I nearly rushed and bought Heroes of Might and Magic V without checking it out but fortunately my friends are good chaps and they warned me against that. I checked the game out and felt ashamed I had even thought about buying it. Heroes of Might and Magic VI is coming out now and it looks like it′s going the same way as Heroes of Might and Magic V, quite possibly the last game in the series since I don′t know a single person who bought that vile game after knowing how horrible it is. I like most of them almost rushed out and supported Ubisoft, the company that I now know as the company that molested the best pure strategy game beyond repair.

That′s all.

Borderlands - It was hyped up for its loot system and supposed similarities to Diablo, however said loot was awful and the game had nothing else to fall back on.

L.A. Noire - Just wasn't the game I imagined it would be back when I saw the reveal trailer. I was expecting a strong, central story and I didn't see any of that during my time with the game. Maybe it's there and it just comes later in the game, but after a handful of hours I just lost any motivation to continue.

Spore, nothing like I thought it would be.

SimCity Societies, I tried to like it.

Kirby's Epic Yarn, you can't even die....

EDIT: I forgot about FFXIII and Fable 1-3.

Mirror's Edge. Complete waste of money.

I've already ranted about this game a lot, so I'll keep it short. I hated it. The controls were badly laid out, the gameplay was fundamentally flawed as first person and parkour movement does not blend well, the story was paper thin and could only be more predictable if I was a psychic, the combat system was poorly designed and entirely unnecessary, half the game was set in cramped hallways and I had no reason to keep playing at any time, it was terrible. The only reason i bought it is because the demo was great, once I got used to the awful controls that is, I didn't expect the demo to be a blatant lie.

The game looked amazing though, the visual style was very nice with the use of white and strong contrasting colours here and there. The game was very good looking, if only the rest was good as well.

I always felt minecraft was kinda basic for what you can build. Some people have built entire Operating Systems in LBP. I built one myself, but it's kinda juryrigged looking.

Minecraft is only really limited by your imagination, well mostly, some features aren't there yet of course, but still.

I built a fully functional minigolf course on our server, one classic one in the woods and one underground in a dwarven mine kind of. I built a pirate city and we built a bloody enormous city close to it, with huge walls and several districts. The city includes player houses, a gladiator arena, archery range, jousting range (Kind of lackluster without horses, but we built it! :P ) and a massive tree/druid sancutary. The tree reaches the sky limit and is of course hollow with several floors, all fully furnished.

We've also got a massive creeper statue and a rainbow shooting out of the sea, we're considering adding Nyan Cat to the end of it.

I hope he's just joking. Those are some of my favourite games, even if the stability hasn't improved in 15 years.

Thats not really giving it a chance.

Splinter cell, [censored] that game I cant get past level 2, the gun svcks, I know its not a shooter, but I should be able to hit a target.
Fable 2, terrible game, too easy, nice visuals though, but not worht the £40.
Fable 3, congratulations LH, this made me look at fable 2 in a good light, becuase it was so much better.

I know I sound give it a chance but I physically can't bring myself to try it again.

For splinter cell you really don't need guns. Most things can be done hand to hand or just avoid it.
Fable 2 is "ok" while from what I have heard forom reliable sources* is that Fable 3 is just terrible.

*Avid Fable fans. Well I guess former fans now thanks to recent events.

What, why?!

About the only game of Rockstar's that I have liked was Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, so it's not really surprising. Just not my kind of game I suppose.

Mine would be

Final Fantasy 13 - I could never get into that game

Demon's Souls - Everyone said how good it was because it was hard. The only thing that made the game hard was the lack of save places

Playstation Move - For the same reason Mikedzines didn't like Kinect

Uncharted 1 & 2 - Got them both at the same time, everyone seems to love them, heck its just jumping around like a circus monkey while fighting the same looking enemies that never, ever, ever run out of ammo

World of Warcraft - What a joke, 11 million subs? 8 million are gold farmers, its not an RPG it's a fashion show

Street Fighter IV 3D Edition - Got it at launch of the 3Ds and its pointless, online svcks cause everyone just does special moves over and over and over and over and..well you get it :P

I don't really regret buying any games, even the bad ones, I enjoy seeing what they did wrong and how it could be fixed.

That said, Medal of Honor: Airborne is probably the worst game I own on 360. Stunningly awful.

The game I regret buying is probably the worst game of all time.

THE SIMS 3!!!

It crashed so much that I wanted to take it out of my cd drive and set it on fire. :flamethrower:

I didn't expect the demo to be a blatant lie.

Why thank you for reminding me about that. I apologise for any fits rage this next game title sparks.

Lord of the rings:Conquest.

That by far has the most misleading demo ever. The demo was epic and incredibly fun to play with friends.

Meanwhile the real game was lagging, the controls some how worse than the demo (don't ask how that happened for I have no idea), the story was short and felt unpolished.

Dead Rising 2. I love zombies, but this game reminded me why I HATE third-person. Horribly frustrating controls, annoying gameplay (I'm expected to repeatedly restart the campaign to get through it? Really??), just not fun to play.

Borderlands was too boring to finish, but at least the gunplay was good, and I got a decent number of hours out of it before I got bored.

Metro 2033--very inconsistent, a little frustrating at times. Picked the wrong weapon in place of my shotgun, and just can't progress. I'll eventually go back and reload an earlier part and try again.

[Two Worlds 2] I heared they really improved and it was ok ?

Not really, at least from my perspective. Two Worlds was quite an enjoyable game, lots of places to explore, plenty of quests and it was quite imaginative. Its weaknesses were bad voice acting and a main quest that was rather iffy in places. TWII seemed to swap them round: better voice acting (though it was characterless) and a somewhat more coherent and interesting MQ, but a smaller world with less to explore, rather run-of-the-mill quests and didn't feel as immersive. Don't get me wrong, it was reasonably enjoyable, but in my opinion it was a definite step down: though the original had its problems, the follow-up was too generic.

None so far, but one game that I regret owning is Far Cry 2. Fortunately it came free with a video card I had purchased maybe two years ago, so it was no big loss.

Dead Space 2 a bit tbh. The game is so short and I find the story quite.. boring. Guy shoots himself through loads of monsters to freedom. Some things in the story weren't expected but that didn't make it any more interesting and the multiplayer is seriously a [censored] joke. At least I got it for £14.
