Seriously,
This game svcks up hours like crazy, unbelievable.
Easy to mess up anyone's work/life balance...
Gotta take some time off - no matter how hard.
At the end of the day it's just a stupid game (but I love it).

Tell her that you desperately need a break from reality where all the chicks you see have fat asses.

That should calm her down.

I am married for over 15 years, and she has never liked or accpect me playing games, often she will find some information about the bads for a video game player, recently she has found some research about that game addiction triggers the same type of addiction as hard drugs.

I think I have just found a great excuse to play more games.

Edit: By that I mean I do not do any illegal or even legal harmful activities to myself or anyone else.

My wife doesn't mind.

Mainly because I expressed to her that the alternatives (such as Drinking, Gambling, and Strip Clubs with "The Boys") are far worse than me sitting at my PC in the other room on a Friday Night...

Buy a second Console or PC and get her addicted, then you will be spending time with her and playing Skyrim

Exactly what I did many years ago, the wife started out playing MS Hearts, moved on to Neverwinter Nights, Icewind Dale, Baldurs Gate, Sims 1, 2, 3 plus all expansions. Now she tells ME when her PC needs an upgrade and we have 2 gaming PC's, gaming laptop, Wii, PS3 fat 80 and PS3 320 Slim.

Warning - getting the GF/ Wife into gaming to make your life easier can get expensive. :D

Frankly, let me say that if you prefer to play Skyrim rather than doing such activities you're at least a little weird  or maybe you had been drinking, gambled and "played too much with boobs and butts" in the past :bunny:

Time and place for everything.

What you are missing is that if my "spare time" is to be spent separate from the wife, the alternative to gaming is "hanging with the boys at a bar/strip club/poker game, she should be happy I'm at home...

MMZ>TORKAK is right. He can drink and gamble at home and play with his wife's boobs and butt. It is not weird at all, but it is called marriage.

Indeed.

Bonus points for doing both at the same time!

If it's a game I can save/pause, help her out with something, come back to at a later point without either of us going through severe trauma --- my girlfriend is fine with it. We live together, so we do get sick of each other every once in a while. I'll play Skyrim for 4+ hours while she watches some movies.

This is a very different story though if I'm playing an MMO or save-point oriented game, she gets absolutely furious. As such, we have met with a happy medium with Skyrim.

She even watches me play rarely, but sadly has no interest herself in playing.

My gf is says the same thing. Nothing a right hook won't sort out. My gf will happily sit and watch a few hours of rubbish t.v and thinks this is different and more acceptible than playing 'those games'. She ain't laughing now, oh no she isn't! SHE AIN'T LAUGHING NOW ARE YA, ARE YA, WHAT WAS THAT? WHAT DID YOU SAY? DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE!!!!!

It's a sign that she is the "needy" type.

Do with that information what you will.

I find that when you spend an appropriate amount of time with the significant other they don't complain when you spend time with yourself, even if it is spent playing vidgia gaems.

This was my argument, at least I'm home and not out getten into trouble, and the fact that I did the math and add up time wasted watchen the shows she wants to watch (supernatural, CSI, etc...) and added up daily game time and the ratio was heavily weighed towards stupid TV, so I won!! For every hour of dumb TV that I gotta sit through = one hour of game play.( or I keep track and do a weekend thing.) Mostly though she's cool as long as the dishes are done, kiddies feed, clean house.
