Thought I'd kick off a "My girl friend/Skyrim" thread and see if others had things to share.
For example :
"My girl friend won't let me get married in Skyrim until I propose to her in real life"
True story......
Other users are saying that that sounds a bit controlling (and it does), but my first thought was this:
Is marriage with her something you would consider?
Generally, the only reason humans romance one another in today's society is for permanent partnership; the relationship is a testing ground. If it fails, couples split. If it works, they marry (in most cases; I know that some people might be philosophically opposed to the idea of marriage, but I use it in the general "officially decide you're together for life" sense).
While I'm certain that it takes time to decide, I was just curious. If she is someone you want to stay with and can easily picture marriage with, and if your relationship is strong and has a good foundation, then this shouldn't really be an issue for you. However, I know that such a scenario does not describe all relationships (by a longshot).
Also, a note to other users who replied to OP's OP: Yes, at first glance it may seem controlling, but perhaps it was done in a joking manner, or perhaps they've a good relationship and this is more of a humorous note than an issue. I just don't wanna take sides, is all.
