Girl I like wants to come to my place and play Skyrim... OH

Don't forget to turn the nvde mods off.

Woah, we've all just told him to be himself. There will be plenty of time for her to make him her project and change every little thing about him she doesn't like further down the line.

Jeez, I guess the times are changing. In my time(which isn't that long ago) if a chick knew you were a gamer or 'dungeon master", it was over. That was as bad as taking a chick for the first date to McDonald's. I guess girls don't have a choice anymore since just about every freaking guy plays video games, lol. Like Bugs Bunny used to say, "If you can't beat them, join them."

To be honest, this girl is one of the very, very few girls I know who appreciates Skyrim. As a bonus, she seems to be very sweet and is darn tootin' attractive to boot.

In fewer words, she seems to be a gem. I guess that's why I'm freaking out so much, as this sort of lass is rare and it's even rarer for someone like her to be interested in me.

So your saying that men "not that time long ago" couldn't get girlfriends because they played vfeogames?

It wasn't like that for me...

And Im sure other men who played videogames got girlfriends too.

I hadn't even considered whether or not I should start a new save or let her play my character. Frack.
dude, she has to make her own character, unless she likes to play as a dude. or unless you like to play as a chick

My teenage years are long passed, and I find modern teenage girls to be even more confusing than the ones I knew during that time. But, the one piece of advice I think should serve you well is: hide your embarrassing save files. Yes, those save files where you have the heads of your companions arranged on your bed. And hide your female game saves where you're running around in Forsworn armour. I know you have them.

I find it interesting how a lot of these suggestion run along the lines of 'keep the focus on the scenery', 'make references to marrying NPCs' and all that jazz. If she wants to play Skyrim with you, she wants to actually PLAY SKYRIM with you. Not look at all the pretty trees while you drop marriage hints and desperately avoid any and all combat. I mean, marriage? Really? Isn't it just a little bit too soon for that? If I was playing Skyrim with a guy, I'd want to watch him kick the everloving crap out of a dragon, not stroll along and collect wildflowers. Yeesh.

And you're asking this on a gaming forum? Something tells me you aren't too experienced with this whole "relationship" thing.

"I once caught a fish thiiiiiiiiiiis long."

Slowly spread your hands the length of a large fish and put it around her shoulders.

Like a bass.

I'm gonna be the pessimist and say she's too poor to buy Skyrim, so she's trying to play and/or steal yours.

Or maybe she's just using it as a means to get in your house and steal your sweetroll.

My advice to you is simple. Be cool and above all, be yourself. If she turns out that she doesn't like you for what you're then don't bother. It's better not to be liked for what you are then to be liked for something that you're not.

In addition to all the other advice, find out some of the things she likes to do. Plan another get-together where the two of you do one of those things.

That's funny because gaming and DnD love are actually prerequisites for any potential boyfriend of mine... brownie points if you're into comics and Star Trek.

That being said, I've never had any female friends and, despite having 3 sisters, I find most other women unfathomable so I can't really give advice to the OP. :/

Here it is simple.

Open this thread up on your computer before she gets there. After chilling for a bit say you have to leave the room for a second. Tell her she can go online if she wants or tell her to look up here favorite YouTube vids, something. She will see this and think its so cute that you went through all this for her. It will work if she's cool. Then go play skyrim with her and let her start a character. She will probably either like you or the game so either way she will be at your house. All I know is don't try to act cool about anything, it doesn't work.

Oh and when se is creating her character, female character, tell her she did a good job but she's still not prettier than her. That's all say nothing more about her looks or anything a lot those lines. Have fun. Last tip. If she plays your character and somehow messes up do not get mad at her, at all. She'll be freaked and jet. It's only a game remember.

To add to this, I met my first girlfriend and my first great love through playing AD&D. If it can happen with a social outcast such as myself, it can happen with anyone.

Try and get your pickpocket skill to 100 and choose all the perks before she comes over to play.

When she visits, take control and go around all the towns, making sure to pickpocket the clothes off all the female npc's. Then let her do the males. Admire their muscular physique (it shows you dont get jealous of other men

Then after that challenge her to a wrestling match on the living room rug, you offer to be skins though otherwise it'll seem too obvious.

Hate watching my wife play Skyrim, she never uses power attacks, and distributes her perks all weird.

Needless to say, she told me to shut the )(*& up shortly after the first time I tried to 'educate' her about playing Oblivion by my own standards. Since then, I just watch her play while my inner child /facepalms.

Anyway, sounds promising, women who will actually hang around with you and have fun are true girlfriend material, as opposed to those that expect you to constantly be the one doing the entertaining and plan their fun for them.

Play Skyrim then..I assuming you're on console, try Borderlands or something with two person so you can get an excuse to sit right next to her IMO.

sounds like you really like her. try to surpress those feelings until later in the relationship. play it cool. most *not all* girls like a man in control. but be sure to be nice at the same time. be yourself if you want to keep a long term relationship built on trust. if your just thinking with your C0%K then modify your personality to work with the girls personality. but dont break the girls heart unless she is a devil! sweet honest girls are hard to find, be sure to appreciate what you have got.

and most of all if you fall in love be prepared for heart break. no matter what you will lose the ones you love one day, unless you go first. happens to the best of us.

Holy [censored] this is an epic quote (and so true), this one is a keeper.

Girls think we think with our dikes and not our hearts. Truth is we get all lovey dovey too, the dikes just a side effect! :bunny:

That's great. I guess you don't have to join a dating site. Just log in here and you'll find guys with similar taste. One thing for sure, though, there are more females playing video games than before. In the future there will be a lot of whole families(parents, grandparents, uncles) living with a good dose of video games.
