Well i must agree with your spouse there.. There is no "correct" way to spend your perks in this game.. (Or any other TES games)
Naw the correct way is my way, not my wife's way. Unfortunately she just can't see that. Women are stubborn like that.

This girl I like - and whom I think may like me back - said she wanted to hang out with me. We tossed around ideas and eventually she suggested we play videogames, I guess because she knows that I do. She mentioned that she's played Uncharted 3 before.

Then you [censored] it up, because she really wanted to do something else but since you couldn't come up with any ideas and she didn't want to be the one picking, she settled for videogames.

Check the movies, as soon as she arrives say "Yeah cool story sis, but there's this movie in thirty minutes, wanna go?" and you can hopefully save the situation.

Unless it's 10 years from now and you are married. Then it's kinda cute and can earn you brownie points, exchangeable for the baking of delicious brownies.

Or sweetrolls?

Lucky, I wish my GF played video games. I actually had to do things she liked! But anyways, best of luck to you and be yourself, almost always works out in the end. Did for me anyways!

Step by Step :

Step 1 : Invite her in, ask her if she wants something to drink.

Step 2a : Don't force her to your computer, when you invite her in just take her to the living room or kitchen. (drinking something).

Step 2b : If she says anything about your computer and skyrim, go with it and bring her drink to the computer (let her play).

Step 3 : Don't be an ass laughing at her if she makes mistakes, laugh WITH her. (let her play).

Step 4 : If you guys aren't at the computer, suggest a movie or just talk to her about her or you (just be yourself).

Step 5 : Go with the flow.

Step 6 : PROTECTION

Remember to always be yourself, it's obvious (if she likes you) that she's suggesting gaming cause it's something you like. I'm sure she likes gaming aswell, but a movie or just a chit-chat with some hot coco (or whatever) works aswell.
Ok one more time...Be yourself.

I wish you the best of luck, have to go and get the coffee going before my girlfriend wakes up =/

Some free advice from the Master of Love (me):

1. Wear a nice button up shirt, cologne, and no pants. This lets her know that you are both classy, and serious about taking things to the next level.
2. Immediately after loading up Skyrim, start the Dark Brotherhood quest line. Yell "Just like I did to Grandma!" when silencing Grelod. This shows your soft, caring side by mentioning your grandmother.
3. Make sure to have a copy of "The Lusty Argonian Maid" in your inventory. Ask her to read it aloud while you rub your crotch and stare intently into her eyes. This lets her know you appreciate fine literature. Bonus points if you compliment her on being a female that can read, stating that you thought that was a myth.
4. To show your romantic side, make comments such as "I hope your skill in two-handed is maxxed out," and "I make even the throat of the world gag."
5. If she asks to play, pat her head and say video games are a little too complex for her gender. Suggest an alternative, such as making you a sandwich. This shows you enjoy her cooking.
6. Women go crazy over men who like kids. To demonstrate this point, tell her you wish real life was like Skyrim where children could not be hurt. Say "See? This kid won't die. Even if I stab him over and over and over and over and OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER YYYYAAAARRGGHHHH!!!"
7. Ask her if you can steal her sweet roll. Unless some other guy already stole it.

Follow these easy tips and I guarantee a night to remember.

My gf isn't a gamer and she really enjoyed watching/playing-along Skyrim with me. We created a new character and i let her make all of his decisions while i control it.

As for your situation, just be yourself and if she is interested in playing the game or just watching it then more power to ya, if not watch a movie or something else.
Oh and if she plays and/or watches Skyrim, and decides she doesn't like it... drop her dumb-ass!

Proven, back in 08 I asked for proposal advice on BGSF, now we have a daughter.

And fortunately she didn't find it creepy I asked a video game forum.

Just relax, make yourselves both feel comfortable, and don't make her seem stressed out by having you watch her every move. Just act like you would invite a friend over and just do some mild interactions to show you're interested in her. Who knows, she might come back again :bunny:

Make her kill a dragon and when she loots the dragon bones say "Hey baby, I have a Dragonboner of my own" and slowly graze her boob.
Hahaha! Nice.

I need help .-.

This girl I like - and whom I think may like me back - said she wanted to hang out with me. We tossed around ideas and eventually she suggested we play videogames, I guess because she knows that I do. She mentioned that she's played Uncharted 3 before.

Anyways, I sent her a text earlier when she asked me what I was doing, saying that I had just forced someone to his knees and cut off his head with two swords. After I told her it was Skyrim, she said "we're playing that".

Well...after my nerdgasm subsided, I started to freak out. Even though this won't *technically* be a date, it sure will feel like one, and I want us to have a good time. Trouble is, Skyrim is a single-player game.

Question: Is Skyrim a good date/sort-of-date game to play with a girl? If so, how should I go about it? How could I make it fun and flirtatious without boring her?

If the above is not possible, what sort of games should I try instead? She mentioned Mario Kart and Call of Duty, and I suppose both of those would work, but they're competitive and I have no idea what her gaming aptitude is. I think it'd get boring if she started losing over and over...but I dunno.

So. Please. Help me. I'M BEGGING YOU!

Edit: Wow, thanks for all of the replies!
Darn your so lucky that you actually got a girl friend who doesn't mind to do thing that you enjoy instead of having you to please her :yuck:

This advice was kind of given pretty early on, but I'll reiterate.

She doesn't give a damn what you two do. In fact, there is every chance that she thinks that the very idea of playing video games is repugnant, but she wants to hang out with you THAT MUCH that she's willing to do it.

She wants to spend time with you. Let it happen :). Be yourself.

Here's the important bit: take an interest in her. For her, it won't necessarily be about playing the game, but spending time with you. Girls are weird. It will be more about doing an activity where she can develop the relationship with you rather than doing the activity itself. So talk to her, laugh, don't just settle into a Skyrim play session. Take a break from the game. Just chat about nothing.

Oh, and take the initiative a little. Be responsive to her hints and body language.

It's a date.

Just relax. She likes you so the hard parts over. She said what she wanted to do so when she comes over just relax, be yourself, and have fun showing her some cool games. Don't just have her watch you play though, let her make her own character or have her let YOU try to make her. Mario Kart might turn out being an easier way for you to both play and have some laughs, but don't get tooooo into the gaming if it seems like she's more interested in you.

Just DON'T TELL HER YOU POSTED THIS! You'll get through it bro, it's the good kind of stress so have fun with it.

edit: One last trick, if you really don't know what to do, just go for broke and be honest. Say something like "Wow, I feel like kinda of dork having a girl come over to see my video games." Sometimes just having the balls to say you're a little nervous, and showing that you're confident enough to laugh about it, can go a LONG ways towards showing her that you're a total bad ass.
