I understood it as "Small Guns were vastly better than Energy Weapons in FO3".
And therefor explained one of the upsides with EW, the vast amount of ammo.
But I agree that EW's were kinda meh with their effects.
IMO plasma weapons should be able to turn just the head or just the arm or half the body to goo and not just the entire body.
Same with ashes from laser weapons.

It would be pretty cool if you could melt someone's arm off, but I'm fine with the way things are now. Energy Weapons are supposed to be pretty much the most powerful weapons in any given "tier". Plasma weapons are reportedly the highest DAM weapons, while laser weapons have a good balance of damage, accuracy, and ROF.

All of the above! Doesn't matter if the enemies ends up as some bloody mess or goo pile, love em all!

Well, most of em.

I'm starting out with guns for sure and will probably keep using them if the higher tiered guns are badass enough.

If NV is tweaked so that ash and goo piles are no longer "eternal" like they were in FO3, I may spend some points in energy weapons as well...

My first really successful character was Small Guns enthusiast, so it'll be nice to get back to them after my recent escapades with morality and melting people. Energy Weapons were a lot more powerful, but starting the game was much more difficult using exclusively energy weapons. Although, now that ammo has weight in hardcoe, I'm thinking about how powerful each shot with be, thus to conserve ammunition, seeing as it I can't walk around with 700 shotgun shells or 2000 MF cells.

Yeah, it gets kind of annoying especially in places where I regularly return, to "farm" for gear...

I, sir, am forcing myself to play hardcoe mode.

Too bad there isn't a "vault boy turns his nose up snobbishly at you" emoticon.

Because I'd use it right now.

Nothing brightens up my day in a post apocalyptic world more then blowing my enemies to tiny little bits. And plus when i search a pile of ash it feels like christmas gone extremly wrong. i voted guns :mohawk:

I am an energy weapon FREAK!!! Over 1,000 Energy Cells for EACH plasma, laser, energy, shock, mesmerizing weapon!!! I LOVE THEM!!! I kill DEATHCLAW in 2 shots in the legs.

They are just plain out amazing, and they are helpful to see in the dark when my Pip Light isn't on. :P

Guns, because I like the noise when I shoot them, Laser and Plasma are really sweet, but I just like the original bang from guns.
