I went for all of the above. Why? Because I have yet to run across a weapon that didn't give me warm fuzzy.

Hmmm its a roleplaying game with many options, that does not compel you to pick one at the start and never try anything else...
So if it shoots, stabs, frys, burns, disintergrates, goo-ifies, splats, fillets, strangles, bludgeons, tranqs, poisons, impels, grapples, tickles, cuts, lashes, beats or grates flesh, I will use it at some point.

i voted guns.

in the first games energy weapons were awesome.

in fallout 3 they were extremely underpowered .

if they have buffed them sense 3 then i might consider them

Back when I was playing Fallout 3, I started out with guns, but once I got that android's Plasma Rifle (forgot the name), I started using energy weapons. Then my Point Lookout game glitched and my SMG became super-powerful, so I started using that instead. Then I hopped into Mothership Zeta and fell in love with the Alien Rifles (there was a specially-named one, but I forgot the name) and started using those. Finally, I decided to switch back to my SMG.

I've got no preference when it comes to guns. I use whatever suits me. :)

Guns. The energy weapons, to me anyways, feel like toys. Also they don't offer a significant damage boost over old fashioned boomsticks to warrant their use.

I'd use them if they did way more damage than their projectile-firing equivalents, though. Like, twice the damage or something like that.

Oh, and I also like to blow -beep- up.

Energy weapons FTW.

It realy depends on how much bethesda and obsidian learned from fo3. Frankly I doubt energy weapons will realy hit it right in fo nv but I do think they will get alot closer to good.

Have to say I find the sound of a projectile weapon far more satifying then that of an energy weapon.....I was quite unhappy when I learned the gauss rifle was being included as an energy weapon in Fallout 3.

I'm stoked the Wattz 2000 rifle is in NV. I always used guns in F3 and if anything I had an energy weapon for backup. But now because of the Wattz 2000 & the glock style plasma pistol it gives me a reason to create a badass SOB using energy weapons as his main skill :fallout:

But gun's is and always will be my favorite :D

I'm hoping I can slap a scope on the Wattz 2000- It will make an excellent lazer sniper.

Hopefully there will be a full set of mods for all the Energy Weapons. I'm really hoping that when J.E. Sawyer said that mods are mostly for capital G-Guns, he meant proportion wise since there are so many Guns.

You people use primitive weapons that are essentially pipes channeling an explosion to throw little pebbles to and fro. How delightfully quaint. :twirl:
If it ain't broke don't fix it. The old fashioned bomb-in-a-tube works quite nicely.

From what I've seen it seems like energy weapons might be differentiated from guns more in NV because of damage threshold. Plasma weapons, for example, have a low rate of fire but do lots of damage per hit, so they'll be better at punching through armor, whereas automatic guns will work well against soft targets due to their high rate of fire.

Anti-Materiel Rifle will punch through any armor in the game I'm betting. Plus, being a super long range sniper rifle, it's an almost perfect match for my playstyle. So unless the laser weapons are absolutely vicious I won't use them for anything except currency.

We where never forced to use Energy Weapons endgame. I did the whole plot of F3 with Small Guns alone

F2 endgame is EXTREMELY difficult with guns.

Energy weapons FTW.

Lazor rifle is mah fav

As I said they lacked enough of a punch for me to bother with them.

Big guns. :( In all seriousness, I'll probably go guns in my first play through. Hopefully, by then, modding will be good enough to where I can somehow replicate the big guns skill. If not, I'll still play the hell out of the game. ^_^

You just have to choose Guns AND Explosives...and Energy Weapons to completely replicate Big Guns from Fallout 3. You should probably just stick with Explosives. I personally am going to use Energy Weapons and Guns for my first playthrough and Melee and Unarmed for my second.

All of the above. I'm talking about my first character of course. I'll use all the weapons I can.

My loadout usually consists of a primary and a secondary. I could carry an AMR and have a plasma pistol as my secondary or carry a laser rifle and a magnum revolver as my secondary. The combinations are endless.

I did as well and I did it on hard and very hard but it made it not much fun at all to shoot an enemy 11 times in the head and them not die.
