Why would we go back to Reno?
The city would look off in architecture, it would be filled with loading zones (The Strip...) and it's dark elements would be toned down like crazy, not to mention that Gamebryo does a [censored] job on body and face models.
I just don't see a reason to go back to Reno, it's story is done, complete, finito.
They should expand on Van Buren lore instead of rehashing old locations.
I mean, if I want to go to Reno then I'll pop in FO2 and play it.
If I want to go to Reservation, Mesa Verde or Boulder Dome on the other hand then I can't, because those haven't been made yet.
But with the DLC's they "can" be made.
Catch my drift?

With the only source being someone "close to bethesda who wishes to remain anonymous" I'm skeptical. Personally, I'd rather them make 4 DLCs then one big expansion. 7 DLCs is just too much, honestly the only reason I was okay with Fallout 3's 5 was because they were trying out a new forumula. Personally, I don't really like it. I've gotten more hours of fun from Shivering Isles expansion pack then I have from all 5 Fallout 3 DLCs combined. Yeah, they're fun, but they're also the worst of the 2 choices.

Agreed that they should do new locations, however I wouldn't be too broken up if we saw the Hub or L.A., because we haven't seen their progression, though they are controlled by NCR. If we were ever to return to the Hub, it should be a under the premise of having the Second Great Merchant Wars, causing NCR to lose them as a state.

You know that this happened to the PS3 users back with the PC/XBOX360 exclusivity with FO3 DLC???

Dead Money will be on PC and PS3 dont worry, it happened with FO3, its gonna happen with NV, just wait till the Microsoft Contracts ends

I'm aware of that. I'm just saying that with some many pieces of DLC and months in between the releases, it'd be fair to expect that the DLC wouldn't hit the other platforms until mid 2012.

On the Arcade part; that's a mistake on the source's website, which makes me doubt pretty much all the other info on there. During Arcade's quest his past is indeed revealed.

I think that place, - if any of the information is the website is correct - , may be a FO1 or FO2 location. Maybe the Hub, or Shady Sands. Is a bit far away though, but who knows.

I've done his quest, I was being sure there wasn't an extra secretly secret that I missed.

And the Cassandra and Veronica connection is exceedingly obvious, I really don't think that needs to be explained further.

Though because of distance this is doubtful, but maybe the place we never thought we'd see is the Commonwealth. It was mentioned like 10 times in Fallout 3 but excluding the chance FO4 is set there we still have no idea what it's all about.

Doesn't Arcade Gannon's dark secret already get revealed in the Vanilla game?

I want to know what this place that 'players thought they would never see' is.

It's probably somewhere lame like Kansas. Why would somebody think the game would take place in Kansas or Wyoming...yeah. Ohhhhh they could do a Children of the Corn kind of thing!

Okay i think New reno is a likely candidate for the suprise for long term fans
As for the Fallout 3 character returning my money is on Desmond Lockheart.

That jerk? why? I killed him as soon as I could. It has to be somebody who can't be killed. I think Dr. Li makes the most sense and Liberty Prime is a pretty awesome idea too.

Why?

I think it would screw up more than a few people's playing experiences if you just brought back somebody from the dead. Not everybody had the same experiences with the characters. I mean, if the developers just want to throw previous story lines to hell, then that's their prerogative, I just don't understand why they would do that. Any character that was able to be killed off so easily and has no believable way of coming back from the dead can't really be worth reviving for later story lines.

It's true, every Fallout game has a canon conclusion, and it will always go against the choices of some players, if not most of them. Marcus or Doc Henry, for example, could have been killed in Fallout 2, but they appear in NV because it was made canon for them to survive.

Note the source never said a "person" from FO3, it said "personality".

Oh no :sadvaultboy: ...Eden allowed himself to be destroyed easily because he was backed up on ED-E(n), which was on a mission to Navarro to unify the West Coast Enclave under his control.

Noooooo! :vaultboy:

Eden? :vaultboy:

Even if we don't destroy him in Fallout 3 he is automatically destroyed by Lyons Brotherhood in Broken Steel.
So his death is kinda definite, unless he found a way to move himself to a new super computer before BOS came a knockin'.

Believe me, I don't want him back so I hope you're right. It's just a little odd it said "personality", and when you think of a personality in F3, you think Eden. Maybe we're reading too much into this, though. The Prime story would be interesting.

Whoever it is I hope they don't include him/her/it for fan service like they did with Marcus (Completely pointless in New Vegas).
And Maybe he/she/it can hint towards whats to come in FO4.

Is it just me or does that sound like the epitome of epicness?

Eden? :vaultboy:
Could be. He could've made a "backup" of himself anytime before FO3, or even during. I also think that everyone agrees that ED-E's big stash of secret data and whatnot was quite disappointing, so they may follow up on that and use ED-E to relate to Eden in some way, a little like Veronica relates to Christine and Elijah.
