how do i kill the snow ape goin up to the greybeards? : V - Skyrim

Kill it with fire.

For Ice Trolls (or any troll) use a weapon with fire enchanted on it (make it or find it) or use firebolt or flames to cripple the regeneration. Bring plenty of healing potions to take to keep your health up if you're low level. if you can't beat him, run past him and come back later.

Sniping with a bow works too, but use poison the arrow or a bow enchanted with fire.

Poison an arrow with Slow. Shoot. Poison another arrow with Aversion to Fire. Spam Fire Bolt/Fire Ball.

or

Poison an arrow with Slow. Shoot a couple arrows. Use another DOT type of poison then shoot a few more arrows before using Slow poison again. Kite. Rinse. Repeat until dead.

A couple Fire Ball Scrolls worked for me.

its cheesy because you can potentially kill giants who would generally be a challenge to even level 30 chars at level 1.

It's cheesy to use the terrain to your advantage?

At lower levels some fire at range, then sword and shield isn't a bad way to take down a Snow Ape. Having a companion and a Flame Atronach definitely makes it an easier go, though.
