so how many of you are left playing this game on consoles

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 11:06 am

I play on XBOX and i have no intention of ever getting the PC version. I dont need mods, i play the game the way it was intended and still enjoy it. Id have to flay my own scalp if i ever became a PC Elitist
I think i love you XD

But no I agree I like to think of the game I have as "the way it was intended to be" instead of adding mods no matter how awesome they are I know from playing OB on xbox than on PC (what 5 hours tops on PC compared to Thousands of hours on xbox) that alot of times its hard to know which Mods will totally break your gamer and reboot it which is totally frusterating, I rather enjoy a game not want to bash my computer

I play on 360 right now. (Well, I don't play it as much as I used to currently) And I don't know, I'm probably gonna try to get a better PC to play it on PC.

I play on console, I don't mind not having mods, sure every once in awhile I go "man that would be cool to have", I still thoroughly enjoy the game either way.

Pc version with mods is incredible.

Do people really need to upgrade so often? Had my Pc for years and haven't had to change a single thing ever to play every game i have bought.
My computer is 2 years old, and I have not had to add anything to it in that time. It runs Skyrim and every other game just fine. In fact, Sky runs better than Oblivion does.

I'm switching to PC this summer. It's just not the same. I've played every other TES from I-IV on the PC, and I hope I can get I-V soon.

I blame Oblivion for this. It demanded such high tech hardware that it locked out a lot of people that couldn't afford those things. Now it's assumed that any game after Oblivion will require a high tech computer. Actually Skyrim demands very little in terms of GPU compared to Oblivion. For an AMD, I have one of the weaker versions(an X6) and I run the game just fine.

Today's video cards (powerful GPU & huge memory) take a lot of processing off of the CPU. Couple that with major advances in graphics/physics engines; multi-core, multi-threaded high density CPUs; huge quantities of L1/L2 cache (on die memory) and system memory; disk density and access time (even more if solid state).

These advances in conjunction with games that give you options to tweak all aspects of the game (anti-aliasing, draw distance, shadows, resolution, particle effects, etc) and you have high end games that can run on "low end" systems.

I am a PS3 player currently waiting for my case as I just got everything else last week. My choice was made because of mods, The Witcher II, and Diablo III. All things I want and can't get with a console... (Well Witcher is XBOX and PC but not PS3.)

I have a PS3 but my PC is being built as we speak. There is more than enough games on PC other than Skyrim that i want to play in addition so its not just for this game but it is definitely a main factor. I want to be able to experience the mods, toolkits etc.

Currently play on 360. Now that I have a PC that can run it, however, I'll be switching to PC once I can afford it.

On the 360 here via a 40 in LCD HD and looks awesome. Mods are cool and i have a dual moniter PC capable of running Skyrim. Steam is just a bridge to far and i'm not tech savy enough to get myself out of trouble if i have a problem with the PC version., besides the 360 runs Skyrim perfectly and the graphics are excellent and imo rival the PC on vanilla settings.

I play it every once in a while on my PS3. I figured if I bought it for Playstation and I liked it I'd wait till a GOTY edition with the DLC stuff if they make a run of it for 360.
Unless there is some truly amazing DLC I don't see myself ever buying another copy for any console or pc.

I'm on 360. I've been tempted by PC gaming over the past year, but honestly, between school, my other interests, and all of the changes going on on my life right now I can't afford to put the money or time into PC gaming. By the time I'll be ready to switch to PC, the next gen consoles will be coming out. Also, all of my friends are on console, mostly xbox. I literally only know one person who has a good gaming PC, and he only uses it for the game Eve, and his 360 for everything else because that's where his friends are. I do like the idea of maybe having a gaming PC at one point, but it's going to come down to three things - money, friends, and how much time I actually spend playing games over the next few years.

I play 360 and then I might switch over to PC once all the offiial DLC for Skyrim is released.

I want to make sure that when I install mods, I have the least amount of headaches possible and I know which mods do work with the dlc and the mods that require much patching when it comes to DLC.

Likewise, I need a better computer, but I can wait a couple years so the computers that run Skyrim smoothly are selling for much cheaper..

Why people insist that Skyrim needs a high end gaming PC?

For the first three months, I played it on a 3 years old laptop! Now I'm playing it on a new laptop that cost me about 600€, at max detail and with the HD texture pack too! If you don't push resolution past 720p (the resolution of a 15" laptop monitor or the typical resolution of Xbox/Ps3) you don't have to spend an arm and a leg: you can get yourself a decent multimedia laptop for 500-600€. You can still use a controller and hook it up to a television with the added benefit of the command line console, the mods, the better graphics, the tweaking, etc...

I own an Xbox 360 and I never regretted purchasing it for certain games. I also used to be a big PC enthusiast spending more than a grand a year to keep my PCs always top of the line. Then family came, I moved on to other (less expensive) interests and now I'm looking for value, not top-of-the-line performance on a PC. That doesn't mean that I've stopped playing videogames on computer, though.

If some of you guys don't use Skyrim on PC mainly because you're afraid of the high entry costs for getting a PC that can play games, well the situation has changed a lot in the past few years. Trust me. If you can afford to spend 500-600€ you can get a laptop capable of running modern games, hooked on a TV, and with a graphic quality superior to what current consoles offer.

I play on ps3 in my case I just don't have the money to game on the PC.
I'm well aware in theory that it saves you money but for me I haven't owned a pc that's lived for more than 5 years (minus my old pc that runs 95)

It's also why I had to stop Gaming on the 360 I had 2 RROD in a few months. (mostly due to the fact I game 6-14 hours everyday)

My girlfriend still plays it like its new on PS3. She works nasty hours and doesnt get much chance to play. I play on PC and mods have extended it some what, but new characters have been what has made me put in over 200 hours into the game.

I envy my girlfriends way of playing. This is her first TES game and she loves it. She simply walks everywhere and investigates everything, she just lets the game take her along, where as I get so driven to do things like level smithing, I miss things and she has to point them out to me.

I have xbox 360, ps3, and a good PC. I got Skyrim for PC. I prefer games to be on PC. PC is more flexible and better. I seldom have technical problems playing games. If I do, I can fix them quickly with a little searching online for the solution. The xbox 360's graphics and capabilities have fallen noticeably behind that of reasonably up-to-date PC's.

It seems like there are many people who can't afford a good gaming computer, which is unfathomable to me nowadays. However several years ago I used to be poor. I was stuck with an original pentium PC with the cpu running at 133 mhz. It was awful. I couldn't play any new games so I had to quit gaming. Now I have no problem making money, so nowadays it's unimaginable to me to not be able to buy a good gaming PC. But it seems like many people can only afford cheap PC's and consoles. When I look at MMORPG's such as World of Warcraft, it's obvious that the graphics have been terribly degraded in order to allow as many people as possible to play the games. Also I have run into online gamers who are broke and can't afford to buy DLC's for the games they play. For me it's nothing to pay $15 for new maps for a game that I love, but for many other people it's a big deal and they won't pay.

I still play on console (360). There's no reason for me to play on PC.

I never bothered much with mods for Morrowind or Oblivion. I tried, but they never enhanced my experience much and most of the time detracted from it.

I also couldn't care less about better graphics. As far as I'm concerned Skyrim looks more than good enough on consoles.

Plus I spend all of my working life in front of a PC, the last thing I need is to be messing around with one in my leisure time.

If I wanted to enjoy it on PC I'd need a new one, this one is too old to run Skyrim on anything bar the bare minimum settings. Still enjoy it on 360 anyway, yet to see any mods that are actually so amazing as to make me regret buying it for console.
