How to be a moderator?

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 7:50 am

I can't imagine any benefits to being a mod. You have to read through every boring thread, and babysit the forum. You get to lock obnoxious threads. What a pain that would be.
Well I don't think most mods go around reading every single boring thread to see if a rule is being broken somewhere. Mostly it's checking threads that the community reports, and anything you happen to be reading yourself.

So keep up the swift reports. :)

What happens if a moderator breaks the rules?
If say Summer starts a flame war about religion (unlikely, but just an example).
What would happen? is there some kind of warning system or would she be kicked out just like that?

Rehabilitation. Inside the Black Van. With a more aggressive approach than the one that made them mods in the first place.

Admin get involved. :( A court would be held in the Admin forum and the offender severely dealt with - how, you really really don't want to know.

Aha, well obviously being a slacker is a major factor in selection, then! :P

I think you need a non-nuanced personality
I've been compared to the rabbity thing from Sam & Max. :D

But Sheogorath is a perv, so you have to be careful where he touches you.

Sheo is hawt - especially in Daggerfall - so that's cool with me. Re the perv/manic depressive connection, hypersixuality is a symptom of bipolar disorder.

4. Stomp on a princess

Common misconception: I'm actually a princess who stomps. You can't stomp on me because I have bigger boots. Steel capped and everything.

uhmm.. :ermm:

I know that. It was a reference to your username, and by which activity it involves.

Because you want us to keep you posted about what's going on behind your back, but I thought I mod report was a report about a mod you're playing and not to be played with if you know what I mean. Obviously I was wrong about that. :whistling:

okay I've been trying to post jokes about sacrificing goats and/or giving your firstborn to Todd Howard but I keep getting some error about the page timing out. It's entirely possible that it's just my internet acting up but I'm quite sure it's just the moderators trying to censor me!

Hah! I just had a thought. My firstborn is 41 and heavily tattooed. Imagine Todd's reaction to finding him on his doorstep. :P

I have trouble believing he'd be more of a handful than my seven-year-old.

Umm, my oldest is 41 and is an engineer. If I were carrying on a conversation, I'll trade ya for the heavily tattooed one or the seven year old. :P

I've got you guys beat, I'm afraid - I'll see your grown children and raise you a 32", 28lb 12-month-old with the lungs to match, who has just begun to learn about "tantrums." ;) (The Dovahkiin has nothing on my little one. Dragon shouts? Pshaw...)

Damn, it's been a year? Time sure flies when you're watching someone else have fun. :P

Tell you what. Somebody have Matt point Todd this way and let him make up his own mind.

This. HD and I know where the real demons hide...Summer and Yasgur are just re-hashing their fondest nightmares..

..and as for poor old Nuke?

Hey nuke ol' buddy, in six months he'll be 18 months old, with the lungs of a three year old, will have mastered the art of tantrums and oh yeah... that's when they become mobile..

Your favorite new phrase for the next four years will be "where'd he go?" :ahhh:

im curious if moderators on other forums have similar stories (maybe they also get taken away by a black van and are also in the basemant but view another forum) of how they became mods but it might make more sense to the other mods if i had an accurate story of the moderators for this forum :D

You do know the mods aren't really taken away by people in black vans before initiation, right?

Yeah, you do.

Let's start at the beginning to make sure you're not missing anything.

When a man and a woman love each other very much...

This post makes no sense now. Keeping it intact because why not.
