How old is the average New Vegas enthusiast?

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 7:54 pm

I'm 29. I must say I'm proud of all the kids (under 18) that are looking forward to NV because of the depth, rpg elements and so on. Maybe you guys will make the next great rpg when your older and I look forward to it. RPGs are not dead in our youth! Happy times. I'm glad they aren't all into it for the six/violence and what-not.

The future of rpg gaming lives, and here is to it never falling by the wayside. :foodndrink:

Myeah, I'm 20, next birthday is in like 5 months. I feel so young and so old at the same time...

same here. but mainly old when realizing my friend is the same age as me, were both in our second year of college, and his brother is now a sophomore in high school, and i can remember throwing him around the pool when he was younger. jesus, time flys...

edit: in all honesty solomondread, im 19 and in addition to the RPG elements and the depth, im in it for the violence XD. because lets face it, who doesnt enjoy blowing off some crazy guy's facial cranial?

17.
I love RPGs, especially the Fallout series, and am fairly obsessed with the concept of an apocalypse, and how humanity will look after it.
I'm an art student, and i find games like fallout to be massive inspiration for character, creature and environment sketches.
I don't even know why i'm typing this, i haven't posted in ages and i guess i feel i've gotta squeeze one out my system...

whats wrong.

thes fact that most people on the forum are 13

According to the poll, almost 50% are over the age of 22 and another near 7% are 18-21, that does not add up to "most people on the forum" being 13. ;)

What is wrong is there are only 4 admitting to being near my age.

22 - 29 :fallout:

Same for me. Although I'm a skip and a jump away from being in the 30-39 group.. :violin:

The 'fact' that there are only 4 '50+ gamers' makes them even more awesome in my opinion.

Old enough to remember a time when not one household anywhere on the planet had a PC or a Games Console! They didn't exist! Even Space Invaders hadn't been invented. The first Games console wasn't invented until 1972 (Wiki) but video games where invented in the 1950s apparently but I'm not that old.

Plus it has gambling, violence, drugs and sixual content of a sort, can you figure why teenagers are interested in it?

I can do all those things in real life, i want to do something different in a video game :talk:

15, altough i hate to admit it. For some reason when i reveal my age, people always treat me differently. It not like, just because I'm younger than most people playing the same games as me, I'll act immature or even act like ''those 13 years old on Xbox Live you always hear about''. I won't suddenly start bragging about how drunk I am or how much weed I smoke. In fact, I am one of the few people i know of my age who don't smoke yet, and i'm proud of that. I only drink a bit with friends on weekends, and i'm proud of that too. It just annoys me I have to lie about my age everytime someone asks. End rant.

Me?
Well...
I started playing Fallout 3 at 12 years old......
Now, i'm 13 years old...
So what? :)
In my country, those ESRB ratings are not enforced.
It's the parent's job to monitor what their children is playing
I'm okay with blood, and gore, but i'm not okay with nudity....
My parents allowed me to play FO3, and i don't copy the swearing, the killing, and many more in this game, so, i'm okay...
Look, i may be a youngster, but i can hold myself and i don't copy the brutal content, OK?
To me, the only thing that matter is>> I :fallout:

so we were not supposed to kill people over a bottle of water?...... snap

Good for you friend, I'm 18 I haven't touched any alcohol/drugs/or anything of that nature that will hurt my body. Its honestly just not worth it to have pictures of me drunk on Facebook with my pals, or even worse get hooked on some kind of stimulant. (I feel like I'm one of the few of my generation who doesn't want to go out and get hammered or high.) :tops:

Seems we're a rare breed these days. :)

I'm on the younger end of the scale, but just barely. In any case, I don't think I'll be having enough time to play NV on the release date. :(

I'm 50, I remember the first PC games I played were Ultima I and Sid Mier's Pirates on a Commandor 64. And now, my cell phone has 10 times the power of my first computor LOL :brokencomputer:

Ultima III was one of the first CRPGs I played, liked it so much I went back and played Ultima II and it's probably what got me hooked on RPGs. I also recall text based adventures like Zork 1, 2 and 3.

My first gaming system however was the Atari 2600: Space Invaders, Asteroids, Adventure, Missile Command, etc.. :P
