How old is the average New Vegas enthusiast?

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 9:18 pm

This is just me being curious- I see a lot of posts that would seem to imply that a fair number of regular posters are younger, which I thought was suprising considering the age and nature of the Fallout franchise.

I'm putting this in New Vegas because I'm not looking for anyone that just casually played Fallout 3, but someone who was obviously a big enough fan to keep tabs on the next release. I know the game is rated 'M', but please be honest if you are below 18.

Also feel free to post, for example, I'm 21. :tops:

WOAH WOAH WOAH. I was JUST thinking of making a thread like this. Hive Mind Five. :foodndrink:

Me, I'm 20. I was introduced to Fallout 3 two years ago by a friend who said It was made by the guys who made Oblivion. And then this June I got the Fallout Trilogy, and with the Exception for Fallout:BoS. I love each Fallout game.

I'm 22-29 (much more towards the upper end of that range).

Even though my first game system was an Atari 2600, and my first PC games played were Zork and Colossal Cave Adventure, I was becoming involved with the military when Fallout 1 and 2 were first released, and thus totally missed them the first time around. I've always been a fan of Bethesda, so when they announced they had bought the rights to the Fallout franchise (in 2005 was it?) I looked up the first two and bought and played them, and immediately fell in love with the series, since I've always been a fan of post-apocalyptic settings, and I love retro styles.

Older than Arcade Gannon or Cass. Come to think, older than Cass by ED-E's age.

Older than 25, younger than 30, but yes FO: NV is a new game in a market driven by young people spending dosh.
Plus it has gambling, violence, drugs and sixual content of a sort, can you figure why teenagers are interested in it?

LOL now there's a fan answer :foodndrink:

I'm really happy to see the variety in the results, and the fact that these games can appeal across the age spectrum. That being said, it looks like over half are 21 or younger, which I suspected was the case.

19 years old, but got into Fallout 3 when I was 17. planning to pick up the first two games to consider myself a diehard of the series (I'm a guy who still plays Morrowind and Far Cry 1, eight and six years after release respectively).

Hey now, I'm 14 and I want this game because of the story! :P

So, yeah, I'm 14. Really young compared to most Fallout fans. Got interested in the Fallout series when I heard that Fallout 3 was being developed by Bethesda(was a huge Oblivion fan). Recently though, I've been playing and enjoying the originals. Going to try to finish Fallout 1 one more time, and finish Fallout 2 before New Vegas comes out.
