How's your weather like?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 5:28 am

It's below freezing, and every morning, I have to stand out in it waiting for the bus. I hate it, and it's not even snowing. There are snowstorms all around my state, but not in my town. So, in short, we get the freezing weather, but not a snow day. :cold:

Yeah, but most other New Yorkers I know have the bus come to right in front of their house. I have to walk quite a bit away from my in that freezing air and wait out there. <_<

How does school (elementary and high school levels) transportation work in New York City?

Our weather is fairly nice. On average this week it was around 50-60 F. Going to be a lot of rain this upcoming week.

I thought I would bump this back up with my current weather report. It is currently -40 at my house. I don't need to tell you if it's C or F since they are the same at that point. So just -40. It's cold outside folks. Expected to drop lower during the night.

Anyone want to come for a visit? We can throw some water into the air and watch it float away instead of every hitting the ground. Or we can throw some coffee like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TtbH68tobwc

Then we can make snow angels and come inside for some hot cocoa.

That was pretty cool, but I think I'll pass on the visit, lol... bad enough weather here, but it's still no where near -40. And you said that was in your house?Brrrrrrrr.

That sounds kinda neat...is there a dogsled team around anywhere, too? :)
Indoor plumbing, right? ;)

Made it up to 15F yesterday, and don't think it got below 0 last night. The big snow (20") over the weekend is keeping the lake from freezing as fast as it could have, so the ice road isn't open yet :(

Aw man, I wish we got a white Christmas here. At the moment, it's just raining. In the middle of summer. One day I'm going to spend Christmas somewhere it snows. The only snow I ever get to see costs me like a hundred bucks =[
Although, we get awesome summers here. It's been relatively hot (24 degrees celsius yesterday, that's hot for us) but not sickeningly hot, so going outside doesn't equal instant death. Christmas eve better be good bbq weather!

Look at my location, it should be an easy guess as to what my weather is like.

Well only people in the states would know really. It's one of the northern states, so he means it's freezing/snowy/crappy etc. Not pleasant to put it simply.

especially if you live near the lake :hehe: me? I'm in the southern part of Ohio so it's not as bad here. Snowing when I woke up this morning, and the drive to work sure wasn't fun...especially when you get some slowpoke in front of you who's scared to drive more that 5 MPH :swear: At least the snow has stopped for now, although it is still cold. Florida sure sounds pretty good about now, at least it's not snowing there.

Austin area is really nice right now. I'd say about 65 degrees, sunny, with a slight breeze.

It depends. While there are schools that use school buses with designated stops, or have buses that stop directly at their houses or more often apartment buildings, like when I went to private school as a child, the vast majority of travel is done using our expansive subway system or the bus system. In high school, I often walked to school and back because the buses took too long in the mornings and afternoons, which took me about 20 minutes since my high school was about 1.2 mi away from my apartment building. Though it svcked that one winter where one morning it was -9 F and I had to walk up.

Looks like they're promising some snowfall here and there for the weekend. Like we need anymore... Temperature'll be around -7oC and nothing but clouds on the sky. Yay me.

Well, it would appear that Northwest Missouri isn't going to get a single snowflake this year. It's a shame, really. There was a giant freezing rain storm that was supposed to hit us yesterday, but it curved North around my area and hit Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, etc.

It was really warm, 10 -20 degrees Celsius , windy, and really really rainy here in northern Nova Scotia. It is starting to get cold again though. The warm (for December) weather was a huge piss off, because it is pushing back the ski season. Oh well, at least it is starting to get cold again.

First time in a long time I saw -30F (without windchill ) this morning :cold: We usually dip into the -20's a few times a winter...but -30 is more up in northern WI and MN.

Beautiful waning Wolf Moon this morning opposite a nice sun pillar at sunrise...

The mocha treat is soooo tasty toasty this morn :)

So far the day ain't all that bad :)
