How's your weather like?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 5:01 pm

It seems to me that a lot of people are experiencing weather that isn't ordinary for their region during this time of the year.

It seems like it is. But on the other side, the weather here in the Netherladnds is one of the most used topics in conversation. It is never what the weathermen predict, and so never really "ordinary". After all, regular weather is just statistics, and current weather can be a lot different then the average, but still not be so different that it is a cause for worries about global warming and such.

Worst snow storm since the Halloween blizzard of 1991, around 16 inches so far and it is not supposed to stop until midnight tonight. On the plus side I got off work today.

We have even more snow than last year and this year it started snowing a few weeks earlier. It's warm though and only varies from -13 to -7C for now.

Aye, they've shut down I-94 for half of Wisconsin. At least you have the beer!

?20 inches of snow, got neighbor's car out of ditch, daughter (6.5 y.o.) snowblowing, 2 runs for baking goods....twas a good day!

And you live in Antarctica? :P

Wow, that was a contradiction I should have considered.

I live in Northwest Missouri. Right now, it's 13F with light snow and very high winds.

Haha, did you hear about the guy that stole a car with his girlfriend and they shut down I-94 completely in Milwaukee? Yea, that's my daily commute which really, really svcked.

And, I just bought a 30 pack of High Life Light and am catching up on Dexter. So today has been a productive day imo, despite the cruddy weather. :frog:

The temperature is hovering around 32 degrees Farenheit here in Northern Illinois. Tons of snow everywhere, but the light rain during the day makes it miserable. At night, it freezes. It's ugly and nasty. Damn lake effect.

If I was exposed to that kind of temperature, I'm 99% sure I would die within two minutes.

Nah, you would carry on like the rest of us. Perma frost of the brain occurs after the first winter. Then you become smarter and wear heavy arctic clothing.

Maybe it's a summer residence? Average maximum temperatures of 3oC during the summer months. Much warmer than an Alaskan winter!

It snowed enough last night they had snowplows out here in west Michigan. I heard that it only was freezing rain back home though. Supposedly West michigan is supposedly going to get hit with around 20 inches of snow but I doubt it. Hopefully it stays clear enough for my drive home this week.

Depends on how far north you are, and lakeshore or inland. I had a rain/snow mix at midnight, due to change to about 5-9 inches of blowing and drifting snow in the next 24 hours. Lake Effect will kick in Monday morning, blowing almost straight south.

I am about 45 minutes (in good weather) north of Grand Rapids at school.

Weather forecast was right - 68F (20C) yesterday. My orange tree still needs a couple more weeks for them to be ripe. :P

First snow of the season here, and it's really heavy for the first snow, I had missed the amazing look of the white cover.

I thought I would bump this back up with my current weather report. It is currently -40 at my house. I don't need to tell you if it's C or F since they are the same at that point. So just -40. It's cold outside folks. Expected to drop lower during the night.

Anyone want to come for a visit? We can throw some water into the air and watch it float away instead of every hitting the ground. Or we can throw some coffee like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TtbH68tobwc

Then we can make snow angels and come inside for some hot cocoa.
