How's your weather like?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 3:38 pm

How's your local weather? Just say whereabouts your from and how the season's treating you.

I live in London, Ontario, Canada, and in the past two days we've had, oh, I'd say about a good metre(3 feet)or more of snowfall. Apparently we've been declared a "state of emergency" because we were unprepared yet again. Everyone is stuck in snow and there's not enough snowplows to move it all. I saw a Cat front-end loader clearing my complex's parking lot this afternoon, and many people are shoveling their own streets clear because a plow isn't coming any time soon. Supposed to be more snowfall for another two days.

I heard Scotland got hit pretty bad too, I think.

Trains off, Busses off, Ice covered roads, banks closing at midday because they can't risk the staff, Taxi's as common as hen's teeth... And (as the guys from the at last the 1948 show {but often incorrectly attributed to Monty Python} said) we have it good. It gets worse if you go north or east.

Its 1:30am and -11c at the airport.

It's about to get warmer here, like low 60s, for a couple days. Really svcks. It's supposed to be cold and snowy, not mild and sunny. :cryvaultboy:

Atlanta, Georgia. Currently in the 270's. Nice, but I'd kill for some snow.

Cold and snowy. fortunately there's not too much on the ground...yet. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come. I'd hate to have another winter like we had last year (way too much snow, and it's not fun to drive in)

I'd say it's brilliant. I love it. Lots of snow, cold as hell... Best weather ever. Though it pisses me off how people complain. Move somewhere warmer if you don't like it, or stop your crying and cope with it.

It's chilly down here in South Carolina, but not too bad. I mean it's not really freezing, but there's a decent wind chill all the same. Worst thing about the season is that I'm apparently in the only class room in the entire school building that wants to be 30F colder than the rest of the building. It's not fun sitting in a 50 degree room for 8+ hours every day. :P

Hot. Dry. Sometimes humid. Bushfires likely. It's been 32 C lately and its 20 C today but I'm afraid it might rise up to the forties soon. I hate the hot Australian weather.

Minus two degrees Celsius. Seems pretty warm now, two days ago we went lower than ten. Also, the snow is melting during the day, covering the streets in ice once the sun goes down. And as usual, the winter services are completely stumped that winter actually happened.

Just in case people were wondering.

I know, that's why I said "barely above freezing", since freezing is 273 kelvins (give or take)

Any person could tell you are using kelvin, as kelvin is the only measure of temperature that doesn't use degrees.

I moved away from a warmer climate (Florida) because it was less appealing than what I have now. After twenty years of driving in the snow, I'm sorry to say, It still is not fun when you have a foot on the ground and the snow plows can't keep up with what is still coming down.

I'm sorry, come back in ten or twenty years and tell me you still enjoy cold and snowy the way you did when you were young. I've been there. I still like it, but that doesn't mean I enjoy driving in it. or shoveling it. At my age it gets more and more painful to keep up.

It's been quite bad in Scotland, my school was closed yesterday, today and now tomorrow. Last week school was cancelled twice.
Seriously, it's bloody freezing outside now! I hear that it's meant to snow where I am later on in the week. I was at Glen Coe when the snow got out of hand and on the way back nearly every road was cancelled, it was a miracle I got back home that day.
Although, it's really fun sledging and I'm quite happy school is being cancelled for a few days :). Hopefully the school will be closed for the whole week...

Anyway, I hope it's better wherever you are everyone!
