How's your weather like?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 2:50 am

It's been quite bad in Scotland, my school was closed yesterday, today and now tomorrow. Last week school was cancelled twice.
Seriously, it's bloody freezing outside now! I hear that it's meant to snow where I am later on in the week. I was at Glen Coe when the snow got out of hand and on the way back nearly every road was cancelled, it was a miracle I got back home that day.
Although, it's really fun sledging and I'm quite happy school is being cancelled for a few days :). Hopefully the school will be closed for the whole week...

Anyway, I hope it's better wherever you are everyone!

I read that as 'I was at Glen Coe when the British got out of hand' first time.

It's bad for December in Cleveland, Ohio. It usually doesn't start snowing until January, but doesn't stop snowing until April. We've gotten over a foot in the past two days. Not too bad, but as I said, just a little earlier than usual.

I live in London, Ontario, Canada, and in the past two days we've had, oh, I'd say about a good metre(3 feet)or more of snowfall.

When did it fall? Im about 3 hours away from you and theres barely anything on the ground. I can still see the grass -- lets put it that way. It gets extremely chilly downtown though. The snow doesn't help either.

yesterday was the worst of it, it's stopped snowing for the time being at least. if you look around on local news sites tomorrow I'm sure you'll find something. we beat the record set back in '77, apparently...

lol, I must say I'm getting rather envious of some of the replies of warm weather. but then again, when it's winter you wish it were summer, and when it's summer you wish it were winter....

Trains off, Busses off, Ice covered roads, banks closing at midday because they can't risk the staff, Taxi's as common as hen's teeth... And (as the guys from the at last the 1948 show {but often incorrectly attributed to Monty Python} said) we have it good. It gets worse if you go north or east.

Its 1:30am and -11c at the airport.

Yeah, they closed all the government buildings and public transit. the radio and news were saying to just stay home because there were so many accidents(over 200 in 2 days... in a city of about 300,000, that's still a lot.). Hope we get some sun to melt some of it away. Not like I'm in a hurry to go to work or anything, I'd just like to be able to get my car out of the parking lot and maybe up the street to tim hortons (canadas almighty coffee shop, for the uninformed)...

Temps are running about 8 - 10 degrees below normal, and we're expecting colder for the weekend at -8 F without wind for a low. Not bad, just put on another layer and another log :)

Lake froze over about a week ago, and it hasn't broken 22F since. Should be seeing some snowmobiles out there soon, and the miniiice road by Christmas. It's a good shortcut.

18C here, might reach 20C and sunny, but the air has turned the last day, the Northern wind feels cold. It will be a bit colder tomorrow.

Hot. Dry. Sometimes humid. Bushfires likely. It's been 32 C lately and its 20 C today but I'm afraid it might rise up to the forties soon. I hate the hot Australian weather.

I thought ya'll were flooding there? Mind you, you might need the ashes again :P

On the West Coast of the North Island here in New Zealand, it is currently severely overcast, and 17.4 C. But no rain, which is a pity for the farmers. In fact, theres probably been no rain here since early November.

Typical Northern California winter weather - cool with sun one day, unsettled the next.

Hot and sunny, or hot and rainy. It's WAY overdue for torrential downpour that doesn't let up for weeks. Usually winter is just rainrainrainrainfloodrain but even the flood channels are dry. It's amazing.

Its cool, but getting a bit warmer (in the 70°ish range), though I am expecting rain within the month. Other then that, nothing special.

Not necessarily. We've been getting summer storms every other day here, so the crops don't have a chance to dry out. Harvest keeps getting delayed as a result. It's ironic that the best rain in years means the best crops, but also means that it can't be harvested.

So, in case you didn't guess we've been getting a lot of storms here in south eastern Australia. One day will be hot enough to fry an egg on the roof, the next will be wet enough to swim down the road. Occasionally you can do both.

Mostly sunny summer days, but today was freezing, with a pretty killer southerly.

Hoping for a cloudless Christmas day though :celebration:

Was freezing but seems to have gotten a bit better. It's rained the last couple of days, which has melted all the snow. Mountains are still covered though, so it's good for riding.

To elaborate on this, it's [CENSORED] FREEZING! It's now 7am, and guess what? It's -11°C. This damn exam hall better be well heated, or I'm walking out in protest.
