Imperial Legion VS Stormcloaks

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 8:12 pm

I just think people should be able to rule their own homeland, so I picked stormcloaks. Also, I'm not too worried by the thalmor, I mean, the Dovahkiin can single handedly turn a stalemate into a total victory for whichever side he picks in a matter of days, so I'm pretty sure he can hold his own against a couple of elves

It's not true at all.

The presence of either faction in the region is the sole reason why the Thalmor are there.

Either way the Civil War ends up, the Thalmor are going to take a loss from it.

Let's say the Empire wins:
Spoiler
You, Rikke, and Tullius march into Windhelm and kill Ulfric and Galmar.
The Empire gains resources and has a steadier hold on their lands. This puts them into a powerful enough position to fight the Thalmor. (If that's even possible... The Empire's government is probably filled with Aldmeri Dominion supporters)

Let's say the Stormcloaks Win:
Spoiler
You, Galmar, and Ulfric march into Solitude and kill Rikke and Tullius.
The Thalmor's main ally is crippled, and while the Stormcloaks are a group that could be defeated by the Thalmor (This is considering they don't make a single alliance, which is rubbish because they will probably establish an alliance with Hammerfell), the Stormcloaks have a different view than the Empire. They will fight the Thalmor ferociously, regardless of what happens.

The Thalmor get hurt either way. Ulfric and the Empire's presence in Skyrim are both benefiting the Thalmor.

Just gotta pick what you think is the lesser evil.
Yes, people seem to forget that the Thalmor do not want any victors in the civil war, Stormcloaks or Empire.

The Thalmor knew that banning the worship of Talos would cause trouble and even rebellion thats what they wanted in the first place 'divide and conquer' While the Empire weakens itself fighting the stormcloaks the Thalmor become stronger and plan there attack. they have spys and soldier already in skyrim watching whats happening. The Empire had no choice but to sign the treaty as they were losing the war anyway, they need this time to rebuild and regroup there forces.
Also remeber that most of the legion consists of Nords anyway nearly half i think, if it was me i would trying to recruit the red guards and also the argonians to join the empire since they are some tough sons of b***hs. The argonians were so devasting that they ran the daedra back into the oblivion gates when it all happend in black marsh!

To hell with both I will rule the empire as the emperor as I should but seeing that it's not a choice in the game I would have to go with the legion mainly cause the stormcloaks are nothing but racist ignorant dont give a [censored] about anyone else bastard

interesting, i never saw this. you know what would make the choice more immersible is if the quest line was inverted depending on the side you pick. for example there is a quest where you have to fight to get the jagged crown why cant one side be defending while the other attacking and depending on what side you have chosen would be what your doing attacking or defending that would make it more interesting but that's a bit off topic anyway

on topic:

it really doesn't matter. and its pointless to defend either of them its an opinion and no one will change there opinion easily... its difficult to argue on these matters so im done trying all i will say is my opinion stands with the empire and leave it at that

Also you should all remember that ulfric was captured by the Thalmor and interrogated to breaking point!? How do you know that he has been used to start a rebellion to give the Thalmor chance to regroup and attack? there is many sides to this arguement to look at we will only know in upcoming DLC if they decide to do it

Ulfric is considered an asset to the Thalmor as long as the Civil War goes in, that much is known. However:
Spoiler
as soon as the civil war is over he will likely loose this status since he will either be dead or openly hostile to the dominion.
