I Kill All Dragons in a Few Seconds.

true, but ur playign as a assassin...i thought assassins were suppose to be able to take out targets quickly because they couldnt stand up to takign on multiple targets at one time, well thats the bases of that class in all other games hence why u gets such a power boost from perks because ur short on defense options.

They are supposed to take out targets fast yes, but my character can take out mobs of opponents almost instantly with just power attacks and Shadow Warrior tech. He is a destroyer of worlds.

At this point you've established that you're unwilling to consider your own actions as being the cause of your problems, and indicate no inclination to taking advice given with the best intentions. I give up. You're right. You're perfect and the game is broken.

You realize that you are a complete reflection of the bolded part, correct?

Again, directly to you Shagsbeard, this is the point being made:

If the game allows the player to build to a certain level of strength then the game should be balanced to challenge a player who has indeed hit that certain level of strength.

No one should have to limit themselves so that the game can keep up with them. That's bad design. Period.

Except you've missed the point:

The game shouldn't be filled with only petty mortals if the player can become a god. That's the issue here. If the game allows us to max out everything, there should be enemies that can still give us a challenge.

its been that way with every TES game, face it our toons are so badass, that one took the place of the daedra most feared by other daedras, one killed 2 gods, and ours took down alduin the 'world eater". I mean what is there in the game thats suppose to be mpre powerful than the actual "gods", daedras, and the most powerful dragon created?

You should've limited yourself on what you used from Alchemy. Alchemy, if used correctly, can be the most powerful skill in the game and since you didn't think about that, and just do, then you are over-powered now.

If you are going to complain about a mistake you have made then why can't you just complain about it to your spouse or a family member about it?

once we becoem "godmode' and can take out the big bad guys of tes lore that peopel fear, why are they gonna add a bandit or a dragon that more powerful than the worldeater itself. U create a "god", sorry u play as a "god", u create an assassin and stick with perks AND skills to that assassin, yes ull be able to take opponents out quickly BUT there will be mages and soem other mobs that eb able to make short work outta u if u stand toe to toe with them, but ur assassin and can strike in the shadows before thye knwo what hit them, ur suppose to kill fast. i dotn see what problem is.

You seriously need to keep your own opinions to yourself man... You've fought with me already on this same topic now you are fighting with others? I'm sorry but please just be quiet and don't post opinions that will start a fight.

And yes, it is an opinion. My opinion is that I think it is fun to try to balance the game myself. Gives me more stuff to do. Also, it allow me to put my "thinking cap" on to figure out what I need and what I don't need.

"That's the way it's always been," is faulty logic. What could be more powerful? Anything they wanted to make more powerful. You can still create a godlike characer, but in turn Alduin could always, no matter what, be 5 levels higher than the player to give them a challenge.

once we becoem "godmode' and can take out the big bad guys of tes lore that peopel fear, why are they gonna add a bandit or a dragon that more powerful than the worldeater itself. U create a "god", sorry u play as a "god",

Because you're severely limiting your scope of what balance can, and should, be. "Why are they gonna add a Bandit stronger than Alduin?" Who says they would, in this situation you bump the Bandits up a bit, the Dragons up a bit, and make Alduin always a few levels higher than the player.

Actually, maxing out all skills wont make you a God. I've done so and I can still get killed by bandits, Draugrs, and other things. It is really dependent on what you have and how you used your skills.

Right, but instead of complaining about it and saying that the game is broken ( which it's not all TES where this way) perhaps he should have adapted to the cap that was set in the game to begin with. I know what he is talking about, I myself have made 3 such "god" characters but the diff. is that I realized that I am the most powerful thing in the game at that point and that there was gonna be no challenge just lots of quick kills, the sweet spot for challenge and fun is in the Lv.50's once you go beyond this you start to become a "god".

So.. because they've always been poorly balanced we should just accept that and never ask them to change? Yeah I've done that with the game Marvel vs. Capcom 2, I don't particularly like playing with only Magneto, Sentinel and Cable just to stand a chance, sorry.

I agree with this. But it seems that this thread is just going the way of many before.

My main gripe, though, is how people declare that the game is "broken". No. The OP's complaint is that it is too easy. That doens't make it broken. CTDs and unfinsihabe quests are broken games. Difficulty level isn't.

I did say I appreciated your suggestions but what I dont think you understand is that if they set the cap at 81 then the game should level with the player if they reach 81.

And yes, Im considering doing it over again and stopping at 56 but I dont think it'll make much difference cause everything will still die too fast. Mages are not a problem cause the Shadow Warrior tech gives me the ability to evade their attacks by repeatedly vanishing so they cant lock on, so to speak, and then silent rolling in for the kill.

1. You are forcing your opinions to other people and trying to make them think "You are right and we are wrong". I considered that as a Style of Fighting and specially one of the most annoying styles as well.

2. True but it is harder to limit oneself then it is to keep going with it, and this is true in many many ways.

You people keep suggesting new gimping techniques but you still fail to acknowledge the fact that we shouldnt have to do that. It should be the other way around. They got it backwards, hence, the game is broken. Broken. Broken. Broken. I limited myself to Assassin perk trees and that wasnt good enough. It is broken. Period.

I don't know what to say. I played the game without any "gimping techniques" (i.e, I just went ahead and played. I didn't constantly tell myself "ok, can't do this, I'll be too strong"), and on Adept difficulty, from level 10-48, I felt challenged. Nothing except pitifully weak things died "instantly", stuff could kill me, etc. So I've got no idea what to tell you. Your experience with the game does not resemble mine in the slightest.

But like I said in that weapon damage thread.... my first skill to 100 was only at level 48. And my highest damage weapon was around 105-110. At level 50. So clearly I'm playing a different game than you.
(edit: also, I stopped playing that character at 57. No need to try to push to 81. I'll try other skills on a new character.)

oh, and "limited myself to Assassin Perk trees" probably made you more powerful. Someone who has their perks less concentrated would likely have less overall power. Just a thought.

Limit yourself and things wont die fast. Example: Keep your armor rating below 1,000 and your Weapon's Damage below 100. As for mages, don't spam, and constantly used the most powerful spells. Switch it up a little and use lower level spells as well.

1. And you're literally telling people how to play and blaming them for the way they play the game that they purchased. You are literally putting the blame on people where as I am critisizing the game. Everytime you say "well it's your own fault" you are saying "the way we play is the right way, why are you doing it wrong?" Which would make you the exact same type of poster you are painting me to be.

2. If the game is balanced properly, this shouldn't ever be an issue, ever.

1) No. We're not telling them how to play. We're telling them that they're to blame for the problems they've created... not the developers.

2) No. This isn't a competition between the character and the game. It's a setting to play in. They don't need to make a game that can beat all but the best players.

I was hoping more people would come here and express their disapointment with these balance issues so Bethesda would take note and maybe raise the difficulty in dlc but the way it's looking, the devs probobly think people are satisfied with the way it is now so they probobly wont fix it. I somehow dont believe most here dont want them to raise the difficulty as evidenced by how popular that mod for the PC is.

You're not telling them how to play?

Then how come you say things like "well you shouldn't take this perk, don't use Daedric weapons, stop using the Smithing system, take off HUD, don't fast travel, etc?"

I have never, ever, once said whenever this debate comes up, that you Shagbeard, or other players like you, should do this or that in the game you purchased. I have never said your choice to limit yourself is bad. I have always said it's bad that the game doesn't offer a challenge to the players who don't limit themselves.

There's a big difference.

And again, scope please, a more challenging game =/= "only the best players can win."

But, as the same thing has been repeated ad infinium in this thread, you should not have to limit yourself to play the game with any deal of difficulty. That's nonsensical and a sign of bad balancing. If your just going to keep suggesting to limit yourself, you are not contributing to the argument.

From what I have seen, the logic is:

"Because smithing, enchanting and alchemy are broken, it's your fault if you become OP from using them."

But, what if I want to use these skills while still being challenged? Shouldn't this game, that is so often touted as the "do whatever" game, accommodate for me? Beth certainly did want to make these skills to make you over-powered.

What Im suggesting is an optional higher difficulty. If you want to continue playing in sissy mode that's your choice.

Personally, I find your views pretty extremist. Interesting, no?

I somehow dont believe most here dont want them to raise the difficulty as evidenced by how popular that mod for the PC is.

Personally, I've never played a Bethesda game on anything other than Normal/Average. MW, OB, FO3, Skyrim..... I've found the difficulty of them to be fine. Most of the "make it harder!" mods I've read descriptions of sound terrible.

(speaking of "how popular".... Deadly Dragons lists 87k unique downloads on the Nexus. The most downloaded mods - like Skyrim HD, the CBBE body, and SkyUI - are in the mid 300k range. So yeah, it's reasonably popular. But it's still a fraction of the overall playerbase. Not sure if it's available on Steam Workshop, of course.)
