Slippery slope.

If +5 Armor was added to every enemy in the game it would be more difficult but hardly anywhere near impossible, especially on Novice.

Please understand the following statement:

Let us make the God Killing Weapons and the Suit of Invincible Armor, give us the opportunity to do it if we desire to.

But, because the player is given the option to do so, some, some enemies should be balanced to keep up with us, or even potentially slap us around, while wearing that gear.

That's a properly balanced game.

You give us a nuke, the game gives us a boss that has a nuke negating force field that we have to deal with before our nuke can be used effectively.

...thereby forcing everyone to make nukes, because there are enemies wandering the world that will one-hit anyone who didn't go the UltraMinMax route. Not particularly good balance, either.

Face it - not every game is designed to challenge "powergamers". (And the games that are designed to challenge them, give non-powergamers incredible difficulty, because the only way to succeed in them is to powergame.)

also, re: "people shouldn't have to make things harder for themselves"..... no matter the game, no matter how hard, some fraction will find them not challenging enough, and seek to add additional difficulty for themselves. see: speed runs, Diablo "naked" runs, dead-is-dead in games that don't include the option normally, Doom "chainsaw only" runs, Bungie's "Vidmaster" oath, etc.

Im here cause I like the game and Im pointing out something that needs to be fixed. They will fix it if enough people complain about it.
Listen.
You can't get to Level 81 - everybody knows that.
Level 81 is the theoretical maximum if all your skills are maxed out to 100 points.
You cheated to get there, an unhappy place where nobody else goes...
And you still maintain they need to 'fix' the game for someone such as you?
I mean it's simple, cheating all your skills up to 100 and then calling the game too easy is absurd.

The people complaining on this thread are under the assumption that we're trying to "beat Skyrim" and that it's too easy to "win". I simply have to shake my head and sigh. I can also rejoice in the fact that in a month or two they wont be here.

If it's so easy that you dont ever have to use potions or posions or even pay much attention to the screen, then the game is broken. If I can kill Alduin in mere seconds then the game is broken. If you can just walk through bosses then the game is broken. It's not about winning, it's about STAYING AWAKE during missions. If you favor this ridiculously easy and boring gameplay you are an apolagist as I know you are by reading your other posts in different threads.

I just skipped several pages -- sorry if someone else suggested this --
After going the crafting god route and becoming bored with several characters, my new guy is using only found items. The only crafting I've done is Smithing, to get the perk for magic items.
I still improve items but only with potions and enchanted gear I've found or purchased. I only use healing potions or poisons I've found or purchased.
You get the idea.
All in all, this has been the most interesting, challenging run of the game I've played. Combat is less rote; I'm now having to plan attacks rather than just swagger in. Looting is also more fun, because the stuff I find matters; I'd find a fantastic artifact in a previous game and either sell it or stick it in a rack, because I could craft a weapon 10 times better. Now there's an element of suspense and surprise.
It's fun, try it.

Here is a good advice for ALL people who think the game is too easy.. Do like i did;

1) NO Followers (unless you don't have a choice)
2) ABSOLUTELY NO magic skills to be used, (Healing etcetera)
3) NO magical gear, if you find that awesome flaming sword, use up the charges ofcourse then never refill
4) NO crafting what so ever, (Includes obviously enchanting)

use of potions is allowed if they are looted or found / stolen / Insert something

this is how i play my warrior character.. Pure sword and board character with perks in heavy armor, block, one handed and two handed so far..

great fun AND kind of hard even on adept against certain monsters

I loot artifacts and such and put them in my display at home :)

Last night I fought an Ancient dragon, about 20 times, seriously. It took that long to figure out how to get him before he got me. I kept dying; he was one tough dragon. I had a long section of my game where the dragons were pretty easy but it doesn't stay that way. I'm playing on Adept at Level 43.

I'm thinking in my particular case that my Light Armor needs upgrading with some enchantments and I need more magic resistance. If that plan doesn't work, I'll try something else. No matter what, I have that memorable battle to remember forever. :tes:

My experiences more match yours. Now I am running JMO-Dragons which increases their resistances which makes them tougher ( and more importantly makes NPCs flee from them ) but I find if I increase stuff beyound adept Bandit bodsses etc start smacking me around.

You people keep suggesting new gimping techniques but you still fail to acknowledge the fact that we shouldnt have to do that. It should be the other way around. They got it backwards, hence, the game is broken. Broken. Broken. Broken. I limited myself to Assassin perk trees and that wasnt good enough. It is broken. Period.

The game is what the game is... you're chosing a playstyle that makes it less enjoyable for you. You're broken.

So... let me guess, you're not trying to kill the Bandit or Troll when you swing your sword at them, cast a spell on them, or shoot an arrow into their head, instead you're just starting a dialoge for a peace treaty, right?

...thereby forcing everyone to make nukes, because there are enemies wandering the world that will one-hit anyone who didn't go the UltraMinMax route. Not particularly good balance, either.

Nope, no one would have to make nukes if they didn't desire to.

Why?

Because, a.) the ability of the enemy can be subtle, like being able to cast Dispel on the player to temporarily remove their enchantments, or b.) using "if" statements in coding, "if player has X armor, spawn enemy with X whatever." Thus meaning, if you never reach a certain height of power, you may never see how hard Alduin, or a Dragon Priest, could actually be.

also, re: "people shouldn't have to make things harder for themselves"..... no matter the game, no matter how hard, some fraction will find them not challenging enough, and seek to add additional difficulty for themselves. see: speed runs, Diablo "naked" runs, dead-is-dead in games that don't include the option normally, Doom "chainsaw only" runs, Bungie's "Vidmaster" oath, etc.

Yes you are correct, except in those instances, most of the games this is done for are skill based games, relying more on hand-eye coordination, timing, and twitch reflexes.

If I want my character to be assassin then I should be able to build an assassin without turning the game into a coma-inducer. So Im broken for choosing a build the game offers? Nah, you're not an apolagist at all. What kind of character do you have? A warrior? A mage? What if someone told you you're broken for choosing those builds?

From reading, I have gathered that it boils down to one fact..... your Lv.81.5 and everything else on the map stops at Lv.56 so you are almost twice as powerful as the highest Lv baddie out there. If you had limited your-self to a Lv.56 then you would find that the "bosses" would be on par with you and the dragons would be on par with you. I too made a couple Lv.81.5's but I realize that I am the " Strongest there is" to quote the Hulk and like the Hulk by being Lv.81.5 there is nothing that can stand in your path to slow you down.( unless you are on PC which you are not)

heres the thing, ur lvl 81 with everything maxxed out. You are a master swordsman, master smither, master of armor, etc etc. When reading books and storys, we have no prob with a master swordsman cutting thru multiple opponents like butter. We are master f whatever when we reach lvl 100 in that skill so id think it be immersion breaker if we are master swordsman AND master of all these other things and the common rabble thats around us are just as good as us... Its the process of reaching that "master etc" state that si the challenge.

Plus u shot urself in the foot ust by maxxing EVERYTHING out. If u were serious about wanting a challenge u would have just maxed out the either "warrior" and "thief" set of trees and stopped lvling at 50. That way u were still at the soft cap and multiple npcswould eb ur lvl AND u wouldnt lvl up really since uve alrdy maxxed out the two trees u are using. Hence uve saved urself from having wayy to much health.

Plus ull reach high lvls of 50 if u stick to JUST what ur playing. Duelweilding assassin, u dotn even need all that alteration, illusion, conjuration, etc maxxed out because all the illusion spells u need are in ur sneak tree, perks from nocturnal, and potions from ur alchemy. The reason why the soft cap is lvl 50 is thats the lvl u stop to lvl when playing, reason why theres a cap at lvl 81 is for the players that want to become "god" basically. So it actually works really well. By 40s ur supposed to be pretty damn good at what "class" ur playing and master basically most of it by the lvl 50s. So playing ur class, yes the game is balanced and works right. Now if u wanna become a "god" or maste rof everything, then yes u are supposed ot be [censored] OP and just sneeze on people and they crumble to dust and the game lets u play as that also.

So if u read this post, then yes U broke the game by lvling up to 81 instead of staying just to the skills of ur CLASS. The game is built around most classes "capping" in the 50s, BUT maxxing EVERYTHING out and becomeing a "god" well the game lest u have ur easymode BUT most people were at least challenged from lvl 1 to about 30s on master at least. U bypassed all of it and i understand why, thats kool, but the problem is u overshot the right lvl and went maxxed. U play any FF game, any other rpg game and when ur "maxxed" lvl theres no challenge whatsoever, ur still oneshotting everything. And its a fault to where everythign gives exp so if u continue to play that game u will eventually end up "god" no matter what, where as TES, u play ur "class" and u will end up as a "MASTER" but not a "god" at it.

Do it again, and just max out the trees in the 'warrior" and the "thief" and stay away from the resto tree when doing ANY crafting and ull notice a bit of a difference. Ull still be able to wreck hell but there are at least quite a few mobs that will still be able to get ya if ya [censored] up at least and u wont have all that overkill of health/magic/sta. But most of the challenge is the journey, not the destination.

Again, you're telling them to alter their play style so that the game has a chance to beat the player instead of the player having to alter how they play to beat the game.

You're also absolutely wrong about the bolded part.

That only effects health and stamina, not my weapon damage. It would've been just as easy if I was a level 56. The level cap is 81 so they should scale to 81 with me. The devs set the cap. Not me.

not telling u to alter ur playing style, ur playing style by maxxing everythign out is to "becoem a god", then quit ur [censored]ing if as "god" the petty mortals aint a challenge for ya. If u read, i said that MOST classes will cap out around lvl 50s hence why most of the mobs stop lvling after 56. So to NORMAL players, there will be SOME enemies that will eb a challenge but at that point, u are a master at what ur doign so u are gonna be pretty damn good at it. But theres still a challnge.

true, but ur playign as a assassin...i thought assassins were suppose to be able to take out targets quickly because they couldnt stand up to takign on multiple targets at one time, well thats the bases of that class in all other games hence why u gets such a power boost from perks because ur short on defense options.

BUT i will agree that dragosn in vanilla are broken and basically not a challneg whatsoever after lvl 15 or so. That really suched for me that i had a much more difficlt fight with a dragon priest than an actual dragon, but thank god for mods lol.

For 4 characters, I've only been playing where I used a skill when I needed it. I played it as they intended; you raise your skills by using them. I didn't think about them much at all but just played the game. No grinding, no exploits. I think because I did that, I find that most things in the game work just fine. There are some things I found to be easy but I think it's because of the Encounter Zones that are mentioned in the Fan Interview stickied at the top of the page. Sometimes I'm just in an easy zone...and sometimes I'm in way over my head and go back later.

Anyway, I try to make a good build and then work on a skill if it isn't good enough. I say all this because of the discussion on this thread that I read a little bit of. I'm definitely planning on getting a good dragon mod after I've gone through the vanilla game and thanks for that suggestion. I'll check that one out too. haha on those bandit bosses...do you have the Sanguine Rose? I find that Dremora and Argis the Bulwark are a blessing for my little Imperial. :tes:

Except you've missed the point:

The game shouldn't be filled with only petty mortals if the player can become a god. That's the issue here. If the game allows us to max out everything, there should be enemies that can still give us a challenge.

You dont understand. I dont take much damage because they die by my blade before they get the chance. Being a level 81 is irrelevant. The game should scale with your character to 81 anyways. I apreciate your suggestions though.
