I'll ask here too, are these for PC only? Or will console players get em as well after testing and what not?
It's the http://www.bethblog.com/2012/03/15/new-features-highlight-1-5-update/, not a PC exclusive DLC. Everyone should get them.

Right now, the patch is in Beta, which means PC only at this time. However, once Bethesda gets feedback from the patch, it will go to the console makers for certification, then it will be released to the console. Time frame for consoles, figure about a week or so, give or take, after the patch goes official for the PC it will roll out on the consoles, but this time frame will be dependent upon Sony and MS for their platforms.

Personally, I like kill-cams, but a toggle would be nice for those that don't like them.

Well of course, but then why not a toggle for regenning health, or one for no spiders, or for quest arrows, or for... Anyways the list goes on. Maybe they will give it a toggle, but i kind of doubt it, since giving one starts a slippery slope.

Sure there are some very very vocal
Posters against kill cams but they are a minority. Polls and general consensus shows majority likes/majority rule. I suggest everyone hold their breath.

And- as i got ninjad from below- you can set ini settings to have 0 chance of finishers, leastwise for pc.

This has pretty much ruined archery for me, until a mod undoes it. :( No more immersive gameplay, picking off enemies at a distance, without being thrown into some lame third-person slow-mo cam constantly.

You can change a setting in the .ini

Are they doing anything productive with the 1.5 patch?

Lame.

How about an option to turn them off or to only see first-person ones?
There is a mod to change them all to first or third person if you want. Of course, if you think they are lame then what's the point? Sorry they are not more Masters of the Universey. :bonk:

Patches should be things which improve the game. Not offer tacky gimicks that not all players will even want.

Totally lost faith in Bethesda. They've turned into complete sell outs.

First video game where doing that in real life wouldn't rip your arm off. Kudos, Bethesda. Kudos.

Fixing some bugged quests. Supposedly fixing the Deflect Arrows perk. There is no mention of some other well-known bugs/glitches around here.

That's a ridiculous blanket statement. Do you even know what else is in the patch? Wait until it arrives and we have actual patch notes before cranking out the negatives. The game is fantastic regardless of what they do or don't put in this patch.

Now I know this is a contentious issue BUT:

O. M. F. G. = Awesome!

Excellent work - been using 1.5 beta for a bout 30 - 45 mins, impressed so far and yeah the whole kill cam thing, love it.

Good work.

That and USKP - which brilliant as well.

Well done all round!! :D

I always wanted Magic kill cams and I also wanted more Hand to Hand finishers. I just wish Hand to Hand had a separate perk tree and the ability to neck-snap as a stealth kill.

Can you test it to see if there are new unarmed kill cams?

Yes for certain. I would love to make an unarmed character but there is no way to really scale up with it.

The suplex fatality was pretty cool. Too bad it won't affect Macho Dragons.

This thread has equal parts of Excellence and Humor (for me).

Excellence in the form of the link that was posted - or, more correctly, what I saw after following the link. Yes, I can definitely say that I am excited for the new patch.

Humor in the form of the people who manage to hate no matter what the news is.

LOL. Love all the crying about the new kill cams. I am using the beta patch and think they are pretty cool myself. For those that don't like them there is a mod to disable them on Nexus or you can just disable them in the ini. Amazing what you can find out with very little effort.
