Major ideas for next patch. Read this Bethesda!

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 11:18 am

I just have a few ideas that Bethesda REALLY needs to consider for upcoming patches!

An option to buy a horse for your companion so that they never fall behind.
Animations for assassinations on people sitting down or sleeping.
If you're dual-wielding.. why can you only see a weapon on your left hip? Fix it!
Add an item or perk that adds a slight glow to ores to make them easier to spot.
Give us the ability to choose what our followers wear.

These are all my ideas for now, please tell me what your think!

I can't say any of the problems above really bother me, but they seen reasonable enough requests. Except the glowing ore. I don't want that. Anything you can interact with glows in the Fable games, and the same happened in Dragon Age with sparkly chests and such. No thanks.

I have but one request for the next patch. The dragon weapons that should have been in the game since launch.

Give us the ability to choose what our followers wear.

If you mean choose what to wear as in "wearing even when they don't follow", then yes, I want this badly.

Also: I want to be able to choose what the spouse wears (I'm getting annoyed with Sylgja's dirty mining clothes and pickax), maybe in the form of giving your spouse a gift?

Like previously somone suggested in other threads that we capture and rebuild forts and the like using resources/coins i like this idea of rebuilding a fort and then converting it into a hold which you become a jarl of which i like alot

My idea is to expand on marriges more by making it possible to have your own children which after many game months will grow into teens and finally advlts.Since children in Tamriel always take their mothers features (as said in the lore books i forget its name),they also take some features of the fathers aswell but not always.
This could be fun as your offspring would have dragons blood aswell and you could teach them shouts and they could absord the souls of defeated dragons much like you can to gain power. Also i think depending how you teach them while they grow(like teaching them combat with certain weapons/spells etc) they will grow and gain majors in those schools and abilities. Also would be nice if you could teach them politics etc and they could rule your holds while ur off adventuring or join you in adventures  .

so much potential in a family expansion that could give not just normal casual players fun but also amazing roleplaying experiences.

Ok, here's what I think:

1 - Sure, why not. It seems odd that so few people use horses in Skyrim.
2 - That would be nice, but would be a lot of work to redo every animation for that position. I could live without it.
3 - Currently swords go on the left hip, axes on the right. They would have to redo the animation to show swords on the right hip also (and axes on the left). Again, not sure it's worth it.
4 - Can't say that missing ore is a real problem in this game. I might have missed one or two ... but so what? There's plenty to find.
5 - I already do this. Just give them something better than what they are currently wearing. Always works for me.

Sounds nice, but I'm not sure I like the idea of taking land from already existing holds... If we, on the other hand, got an island in the northern sea, or if we got some land from another province (or maybe a mountain region between the provinces), that would certainly be awesome!

If we became a Jarl, we would maybe get to vote for the new High King

That's both awesome and insane. I doubt they will include everything you just said, but I would certainly like to have the possibility of getting children in the game (biological and adopted). But I want to be able to name the child, and I want it to grow up at a "realistic rate" (not over a night as in Fable II).

yea my idea for the children would grow up after many many many game months and you can teach them and watch them grow or neglect them as you se fit ofc if you neglect them they will harbour resentment of you in some way or so lol.

these are aesthetics, we need bug fixes first like the non respawning hideout bug. we really don't need any of these, it would be nice, but we don't NEED THEM

Being a Dragonborn isn't hereditary. Your character didn't inherit the abilty from thier parent's so that wouldn't work.

Skyrim doesn't take place over anywhere near a long enough period of time for an infant to mature to advlthood.

We have to keep in mind that some players go through the game very fast. They play the game quickly, then they move on to the next game. Players who do this won't realize that it's possible to play one character for many in-game years.

Many game months would be enough time for an infant to develop into... a slightly larger infant.
