I don't think you can know how a game feels without playing it. I've seen the vids and other material as well. I thought it could have been good but that's about all anyone could get from it.

Ah anyway sorry. I'm not trying to be contrary I want everyone to be happy with NV and don't want anyone to be let down.

"Everyone" being happy with anything made by anyone will never happen.

Someone will always have their own opinion, whether they consider the game to be good, bad, or indifferent.

I played Fallout. I found that it wasn't my favorite type of game, and didn't really care for it that much. I finished it. Since I bought the set, I installed and attempted Fallout 2. Never did manage to finish it because I disliked it more than Fallout. My opinion only; your mileage may vary. I found that, contrary to my initial expectations, I did end up liking Fallout 3. Even the original ending that so many people complained about.

I've heard that Ob is using alot of VB material in NV... right? I can't wait.

Yes. The major factions, areas and it seems like they're using the same plot-device for the story as well. I am--if you couldn't tell by my screen-name and avatar--very, very excited as well. Of course, that's all we know so far. I'm sure much more of VB will surface only after playing the game.

Edit: I don't mean "same" I mean "similar".

I wouldn't mind running into a game named "The Prisoner" though, as a Special Encounter

Gameplay wise, it will feel exactly the same.
Tone wise, I think it will be much better (bethesda must have had oblivion still on their minds, because the tone was wayyyy off)

Think of it as a spinoff, with pretty much no major changes just new content.
I played fallout 1 and 2 last year quite a bit in preparation for fallout 3 (as well as a lot more of fallout 2 after i was bored of 3) and can safely say I have utmost confidence in the development at Obsidian.
I am especially looking forward to the dialogue and story, areas where i feel fallout 3 missed the mark. Everyone was too happy and care-free and the brotherhood was too "good". Fallout 1 and 2 were more about a good person making a difference in a [censored] world full of understandably selfish people. (unless you chose to be evil, but i enjoyed being a nice guy instead)

The reasond we have gorn from top down to 3rd and 1st person is because of the tecnoligy they did not have it at the time with FO1 and FO2

Nah thats not true. There were FPS and FP-RPGs at that time. The reason we went from Isometric to First Person is because Bethesda acquired the license.

It's an anology, and it was a very good one. I understood what he meant. But I feel he may be right, they will try to make a carbon copy of FO3, but the point of him been wrong is that they try to make a Carbon Copy but do it better.

oh I guess you have't heard of games called Doom and Doom 2 then? It's a art style not a limitation.

I don't want change in the feel of the game, just improvement in missing/shallow aspects. And I, for one, thought World at War's campaign was just as enjoyable as Modern Warfare. Neck shank and toss corpse anybody?

Funny. This is how a few thousand of us felt when Bethesda obtained the pre-existing license. Do I want a change in feel of the game? Heck yes. I want it to feel more like Fallout 1, 2 or VanBuren than I do Fallout 3.

Ditto. I liked Fallout 3, but I didn't love it. Bethesda missed the mark on most of the look, feel, and mood of the setting and the game mechanics. They did great on the artwork and some of the look/feel stuff, though. I didn't mind the first-person aspects, the fact that it was more action-shootery, etc., but I'd like to see the setting restored to the way it was in the original games as well as less contrived game mechanics. IMO, the setting was better before Bethesda got a hold of it.

Hey to be fair at least Fallout 3 didn't have weird out of theme places like Vault City and the NCR Republic and all that. I like the Bethesda setting more, I don't see why you guys liked the other one so much.

I didnt find Vault City and NCR at all out of theme. The series is about the fall of civilization and it trying to rebuild itself. Now had you said New Reno/San Fran i might agree with you...or Lamplight and that one Lovecraftian building for that matter

Vault City and NCR are about as on theme as they could possibly be though

anything that has Mr. JE Sawyer's or Chris Avellone(mispelled??) name in the credits is usually pretty good.
its a game, made by people from a company I know of, and thus, I come to play.

thus I shall find no real difference from fallout vegas to any other fallout.

Bethesda actually made a pretty popular FP RPG known as Daggerfall and it came out right around the same time as Fallout, as did System Shock. Also i never said and never meant to infer that you were an idiot, it's easy to get time of releases mixed up. Besides you have the first same first name as i do, therefore you must be brilliant
