A Message To Obsidian Entertainment

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 5:01 pm

Dear Obsidian Entertainment,

i'm a fan of Fallout 3 and i want New Vegas to have the same feel as fallout 3 did. I dont know if your aware but Treyark made Call of Duty World at War, WaW isnt so popular because its not like Infinity Wards Call of Duty 4. I dont want that to happen again, I dont want to feal like im playing a totaly different game. Bethesda hit a home run with Fallout 3 so i dont want to be playing a World at War when i was expecting a Call of Duty 4. Honestly i hate that Bethesda isnt the lead developers in this game, because im not in the mood for change.

I ask you Fallout fans

Do you want a Change in the feal of the Game? Because i sure dont.

It has the same engine. And it isn't a direct sequel. It will mainly be the same.

As a gamer who can adjust to change fairly well, if they did alter the feel of NV from FO3, I'm sure that I wouldn't mind too terribly much. I'm sure the same was done when 3 deviated from the top-down gameplay of FOs 1 and 2.

Well, since Obsidian consist of guys from Black Isle that made Fallout 2, Fallout New Vegas can only be better, right? They'll make dialogue interesting again, and hopefully there's a lot of black humor in as in the other games. :)

Actually I do in fact want a change in the feel of the game. That'd be hardcoe mode, consequences for my actions, better writing, and more importance in choosing stats and skills.

It will be the same game with better and more humorous writing. Question to Phallout_Phan have you played fallout 1 or 2?

Funny. This is how a few thousand of us felt when Bethesda obtained the pre-existing license. Do I want a change in feel of the game? Heck yes. I want it to feel more like Fallout 1, 2 or VanBuren than I do Fallout 3.

That's a loaded question to ask around these parts because the FO1/2 purists are pretty vocal and think FO 3 was not so good.

There are those that liked all 3 and I have faith that Obsidian will do a good job. the teaser gave me a good feeling.

I am SURE it will be alot different especially in rpg mechanic but I think the feeling of the game will be close to the same.

How do we know how VanBuren "feels" like?

Aside, I hope NV makes FO 1/2 fans happy.

ps I hope it makes PHallout Phan happy as well!

I don't think you can know how a game feels without playing it. I've seen the vids and other material as well. I thought it could have been good but that's about all anyone could get from it.

Ah anyway sorry. I'm not trying to be contrary I want everyone to be happy with NV and don't want anyone to be let down.

I followed NMA, DaC and the Codex during it's development. I paged through all of the design docs. I've looked at their concept art. I've read just about everything there is relating to the game's story as there is information out there. It "felt" like a brilliant premise and since those same guys are working on New Vegas and implementing much of VB into it--soon, hopefully, we'll all get a taste of what VanBuren feels like.

Don't lose "HOPE" Obsidian can bring the "CHANGE"

and through that "CHANGE" there is hope that Bethesda might "CHANGE" their own game as they see what aspects they want to adapt for the East Coast....hopefully they won't just take whatever works and insert that exact thing into the East Coast though...

also yeah. NCR, Powder Gangs, Casear's Legion, and the Hoover Dam were all planned for Van Buren
