It wasn't confirmed. Todd said what he always says that there are complications. Basically no they will not.

If that is really happening Xbox will be the most dominant gaming system.

But it would be ALL consoles, not just Xbox.

No it won't. Where do you think the mods will be made on?

It's possible. I would give it about a 25% chance. Better then nothing

He said he hoped he could do it. I really wish he didn't say that, becaue if its not true, people will be really disappointed.

Todd was being polite to the interviewer by saying that he wished that he could, but there were obstacles in the way which means it probably won't happen. The interviewer was just a complete idiot and kept pushing the topic when clearly Todd said off the bat that it would not happen.

I think it's nice to keep the dream alive but don't hold your breath. I'd wager definitely not on this generation of consoles.

This is heresy. The peasants pay a price for using their useless technology, allowing them ours is insanity.

 Well played Sire.

Don't count on it, Microsoft/Sony won't allow it. Just patching a game on both consoles costs $40,000 so I doubt they'd let free mod downloads through. And they're generally very protective about their platforms.

Sure Todd talks about it optimistically, of course he wants to see it happen. But I don't think it will. Not with Skyrim, not this console generation. Maybe in the future.

I haven't seen the footage but, based on what has been said in the past, I'm guessing this is what happened.

Todd said he would likeit to happen but that it is not going to happen for a long time yet. There are still many many issues that need to be workd out.

This is not new news, Todd mentioned a year ago he wanted this to happen but due to the formentioned many many issues it won't until Sony and MS play ball

Oh well, guess I still have to fix up my PC.

Many players use multiple platforms. I for one, play both PC and Xbox.
And?
instead of, ahem, arbitrarily dividing ourselves along imaginary lines, perhaps we ought to simply play and let play.

You guys are really blowing this out of proportion. All Todd said was "If this was a perfect world, we could". Which basically means no or not anytime soon.

The big obstacle is Microsoft and Sony, they will not allow it without monetary compensation. As Povuholo said, it cost about 40k just to patch the game, adding an endless stream of extra content is not in the realm of possibility unfortunately.

Pretty sure that'd be against MS's ToS?

However, if you left your console offline... :P

You can be sure... Microsoft alone, will not allow this.

I don't think it will happen this gen, but the reality of the situation is that consoles will have to become open platforms if they want to stay relevant and the big 3 know this, and developers are pushing the issue hard. So it's not really a matter of "if" it will happen but "when".
