Pretty much my reasoning as well. Also I have zero interest in being a blood svcking parasitic corpse.

Less Vampires = Cakewalk

They feed on blood because they HAVE to. Every Vampire is not some blood-crazed maniac looking for candy to steal from children.

My Imperial is already a Werewolve so its not like I can just go Vampire, so I'd go Dawnguard.

Also if you're a Dawnguard, I'm hoping they'll gave you some waistcoat and hat costume with an automatic crossbow, like Van Helsng.

If you become a Vampire Lord, you get cured of being a Werewolf. Plus, there's always the chance to become the Werewolf again in Dawnguard.

transformations are temporary... crossbows are forever.

The transformation lasts as long as the vampire lord wishes.

Were they too shy to pray at a random shrine when they were afflicted? I'm pretty sure most people can tell when they've been afflicted with "Sanguinare Vampiris".

It really does not matter since most people will end up playing both sides sooner or later.

Nonon ono either you are a magnificent vampire or a fool, you can't be both! You have to pick a side! It's the same thing with Cod/Baattlefield and xbox/ps3, you can't have both.

Dawnguard. Unless someone releases a mod that provides a first person perspective for playing in vampire lord form, I probably won't fool with that side of the story at all. For my companion character, I never once used his werewolf transformation abilities. Doubt vampire lord would be any different.

Besides, if I were going to be a vamp I'd prefer the more traditional human form vamp that can cast his normal spells and use his normal equipment.

Now Skyrim will be filled with a bunch of Redguards named Blade, way to go O: It would be intresting to be a normal vampire siding with the Dawnguard and smacking Vampire Lords around.
